This would be my pick, hope to fly into Auckland or Hamilton and pick up a bike one day
Easier to get to NZ than Tassie.
Dave would have to ride to Melbourne then wait for the boat that's always late then cross to Devonport, NZ is 3 hours away from Kingsford smith which is an hour and a half from his place.
You can rent a DR650 with luggage for $99.00 per day off peak , No ferry costs, use their tyres and milage. $1485 for 15 days.
Tell John or Perry, Russ sent ya they might even knock a bit more off if you take an older one.
Auckland or Christchurch are usually the better options for the hire companies. There are some fantastic deals that come up in the shoulder periods, just need to keep an eye on the airlines for specials.
We'll point you in the right direction....
We have a mate in Hamilton with a car rental company who will rent you a bike.
His selection is small but interesting - GS1200, 950SE, 1290 Adv - stuff like that.
Yup. And that's Herr Direcktor.
It's a great run I've done it a few times, I also love the Rainbow, so many great roads on both islands.
I'll be back there in December for a month.
Recycled water .. recycled from the 'waste water'.
Some object to it, Some think it will turn tourist away, effect property prices...
Been to London UK? The tap water there is recycled ... property prices don't look to be effected...
If you have nothing to drink other than recycled water .. you'd drink it.
In essence - all water (globally, over the millenia) is "recycled"... when you think about it...
I mean, no one "makes" new water... but access to "clean" water for a great percentage of the worlds population is a huge concern. With the technical advancements made in the water filtration, cleansing and purification systems that are available today... honestly, if you did not make people aware that the water is "recycled" - they wouldn't know (taste, smell, feel) the difference.
I work in water treatment. Treated with biocide and then pushed through the reverse osmosis membranes it comes out too clean! Minerals and things need to be added before you can drink it.
I'd drink it before trusting any other foreign countries water supply!
Everyone in our major cities is drinking recycled water. Where do all the inland cities dump their treated water? Back in to the rivers to flow down to Warragamba etc.
As you’d know its even too clean to put back into the river systems
The amount of chemistry in a bit of clean water is staggering.
Toby price on Have you been paying attention right now
Cooma for example, gets its town water out of the Murrumbidgee. Humans process it and the 'waste' water ends up in the same river a bit further downstream, heading for Bredbo, Canberra, and beyond to South Australia. Adaminaby and numerous private septic systems are upstream of Cooma. Most towns in Oz that access river water for domestic use are using recycled water.
And you have the Big Badja and Numeralla out your way
Wendy and I are heading down Wednesday Russ in the Caravan, back to Sydney for AM flight to Sepang . Catch up Saturday?
I’m at the Sofitel Darling Harbour ATM but heading home soon. Rooms paid for tonight if you wanna head up the river. Been at a Liquor Expo at ICC...
See you Saturday.
