    Is this the last waltz?
    Hi,
In April this year the European Parliament decreed that all new cars sold after 2021 will be fitted with ISA device
(Intelligent Speed Assist) this will be able to recognise speed signs as well as speed limits in your area from GPS. The car will then ‘help’ you stay within the speed limit by reducing the power from your engine as you approach the designated speed. The system will be set to a low intrusion level, so if you caught in the middle of an overtake you can kickdown the throttle to bring the power back in.

Motorcycles are exempt from this legislation , but not for legislative reasons. There is no practical system developed yet for motorcycles, as soon as it is developed then motorcycles will be brought in to the scheme☹.

2024 there is planned an expansion to the ISA with the system having more control, data logging of your route and actions, lane spacing between vehicles, if you get too close to the vehicle in front, the car will reduce your speed.

    2026
By this time the motorcycle system should be developed.
The is the big bang, the ‘smart motorway’ scheme will be completed, your car can now communicate and receive instructions from the road, you are also In contact with the vehicles around you. If the car in front puts on his indicator or eases off the throttle, your car will know about it and take appropriate action.

If you break the law, your data logger will report you.
All Vehicles will either have this system from new or have to have it retrofitted.

I no longer get alerts for being tagged either - maybe @Sfcootz could ask if there's a setting that was missed in the last upgrade?

I don't put any feed out for the birds Bruce. Plenty of grub(s) about when I do the mowing witn the ride on. The cheeky bugger butcher birds will get within a couple of feet waiting for the fresh cut. Too many to feed anyway, about 50 plus species around including a large pair of wedgies. Also have a family of eight to 10 quail around the house. They will come right up to the door if the dog is not around.

    Bad camera pic.

Bloody hell Cruz, you put up satire in the Aus politics thread and now you put up an April Fools joke here and it’s bloody August.

It was a joke right? Please?

Yes - I got the notification, thank you.

Did you have to change many settings or just give the server a good kick when you were walking back into the Diner? :-)

An E master key got me to many places, one of my best jobs was battery maintenance at repeater towers, boom gates were not that much of a problem, drag your bike under the gate if you couldn’t ride around it.
Thankful that I never crashed a work vehicle, I did try to back them in as often as possible.
Scando flick in commodore and falcon wagons, and the odd 720 Nissan ute.
We used to climb around the gates on radio towers also, how I’m still alive to type this is a numbers game :-)

Nice machine hall. Pelton wheels are cool, my hydro experience is with vertical shaft turbines.

So Sunday arvo we’re watching an X-Men movie, the one where they are running around in a hydro PS, and there’s a shot of the machines. I remark “oh look, Pelton wheels, and separately excited as well.” The lovely wife just did an eye-roll and got up and poured another wine. Intakes and tail race were all wrong too.
