Bass Strait was as flat as a pool table yesterday, could have been done on a kayak.
My first daytime crossing but I'll try not to do that again, seats are so bloody terrible I thought I was going to have access to the recliners but no, only had a two hour sleep night before so was an extra uncomfortable crossing.
Lets hope that the new ferries are better accomodating for people to have better creature comforts.
Two bikes that I was hoping to see and possibly purchase one to take home with me were sold yesterday, there is a third one in Brisbane that I also had my eye on but all of a sudden I can't go due to the lock down.
Last few times I've had a cabin. Shared with unknown others. It was fine for me - I use ear plugs. All night crossings.
Same here, always night crossings either cabin on my own or the family but more often on my own a recliner is good enough for me.
I also do earplugs but will not share a cabin with unknowns, I am extremely sensitive to others noises or habits.
My wife always says that to this day she does not understand how I tolerate her and the kids I love them to bits.
Yep when it comes to being in close proximity to other humans I have very little tolerance, with my luck I’ll probably have to share a cabin with smelly drunk yobbos.
I resemble some of that remark. I take it you have not been on many adv rides.... with some overnighters.
Yep, that’s me Warin. Every time I’ve been down with mates I’ve known for bloody years I’ve ended up sleeping with drunk obnoxious snoring prats.
No Warin, I’m not a drinker and always on my own, I take the adventures by myself, have been since I was a kid.
Nowadays that the kids are older I’m in a position again to take month long trips to the desert.
Sometimes I think it was the product of being the second youngest of eight siblings always felt overwhelmed by the attention from the older ones and competition from the younger, so I searched for solitude and still seek and reach for to this day when ever possible.
Bikes are an answer to boredom, apparently. Some are so bored they buy Harleys...

See there is a demo in Melbourne ride away $28K if you can stretch your budget.
Yes I saw that thanks Andrew, I can but the other half cannot.
The bike you buy when you don't want to ride?
Actually the 'scrap heap challenge' might be a better idea ...
