In the beginning the lord of dirt Crustyvarmint created a starting point and the disciples duly arrived.

there is always one with a camera

and one with a bike with "character"

the lord of dirt appeared before the disciples

the disciples listened as the lord of dirt spoke

the pronouncement was "Go forth. To the dirt!"

Some disciples were required to give more attention to their steeds than others.

some steeds just sat and looked smart

    friends rode past

and the lord of dirt continued to hold centre stage (Despite the fact he does not know the difference between Nar Nar Goon and Bayles)

some steeds looked like a Touratech catalogue

other steeds proudly showed the results of a couple of weeks of two up in central Australia

    one steed was lonely

Bavarian disciples were quietly discussing whether it is possible to own too many Touratech farkles

    then they rode again

    and stopped once more

    for sustenance

    and convivial social intercourse

    and the view

    (Full size view here)

more riding resulted in more views

    and a stop on Powelltown

and the remaining disciples duly arrived at the Soda Cafe for a well earned Hot Chocolate (and Hot Chilli Chocolate truffle)

    The lord of dirt

leads the disciples (except the two that he smote in an effort to provide favourable odds for Bavaria against Japan)

Thanks for interesting way to tell the story... not much of an idea where you went, but I guess going for the ride with mates was the point of it.

really liked the bike and rider pics. It takes a good cat herder to organize that.

Route map here (at least most of the route until Google ran out of puff).

From Gladysdale it was basically head west via some dirt and back roads to Wandin. Silvan, Kolrama and finish at Montrose.

Thanks for all your help and support Richard, especially being tail rider and taking those great pics.
