Here's mine. I moved last summer though and there isn't any autocross racing local to me now, so it's got dot tires and plates now.

My one and only attempt at autocross. Apparently, you're not supposed to drive it like a rallycross. :dunno

For a good illustration for the word "horrified" in teh dictionary, the face of the local SCCA rep when I asked if I could enter a motorcycle in their Autocross event would serve admirably.

Nothing too special. It's a Ford 3.0 pushrod V6 from a Taurus with a homemade 4 barrel intake and headers, plus a homemade 9lb flywheel, with a Mitsubishi 5 speed out of a Hyundai. The back axle is out of a Toyota Corrola. I can pretty much garauntee that it's unique. Even with the all iron engine, it still only weighs 1300lbs.

Not to threadjack, but what tranny from which Hyundai bolts up to a Duratec V6? Curious minds (with a Duratec) want to know. :-)

The short answer is none that I know of. Mine isn't a Duratech, it's a Vulcan, so I'm not sure if it's the same as the Duratech bell housing. Mine is supposedly the same as the old SHO V6's that were built by Yamaha though. It wasn't a bolt up assembly in mine either. I made an adaptor plate that sandwiches between the engine and transmission that also is an engine mount. I also made my own flywheel. The beauty of a 60 degree V6 is that they have perfect primary balance, so no flywheel balance factor is required. They also run very smooth, smooth enough that my solid mounted drive train doesn't rattle your teeth out. I can put a cup of water on the air cleaner and it barely ripples, even when you rev it up. The transmission is a Mitsubishi KM119 from a Hyundai Stellar. The bell housing pattern is the same as a 4G63 I think.

Here's how one of my best friends use to roll in 1975 - yes its a real Porsche 550A Spyder #550-0113 and it had a flat fan 1700cc 4-cam engine in it.

1050 pounds - around 150 HP and wide sticky goodyears - he got FTD at one event with a full 360 degree spin in the middle of the run.
He sold it 1978 for around $6500 ( I could have bought it for $6K) - its worth about $3 Million today...

I run in the NEOKLA region. My s2000. Still trying to get more competent in it. I'm about a midpacker at the local level against a field of str miatas.

The '73 B. A crowd favorite. It runs similar times to street miatas in our region. I do have some stickier tires and wider, lighter wheels about to go on it soon though. I wanted some star specs but they were too darn expensive. I had to settle for the BFG g-force sport comp 2.
