I'm happy to report the install was successful. Your tips were exactly what I needed. Again; thank you. Fun story; I ended up hooking the lights to the always-on power. DERP. Oh well... These lights are so damn bright that there's little chance I leave them on. Great idea! I have some yellow film laying about for a project I never started when I owned my Porsche Cayenne diesel.
Im Bored and need to create and print something! I got some crystal clear yellow PTEG damn i might have to try it.
Really like my cyclops light kit. Small, super bright and the mount is hardly noticeable. Instructions were pretty good and when I had questions, these people were really great and helpful. This new prototype mount looks really sublime!
Denali has a new Cansmart controller for KTM to go along with their light mounts and lights(the D7 lights are incredible, over 15,000 lumens for the pair!). The Cansmart does have limited functionality on the 790 compared to the 1090/1190/1290 but you can turn auxiliary lights on and off by toggling the DRL function in the gage. It will automatically change intensity of the lights from 100% on high beam to a preset % on low beam, I set mine to 20%. It can control two sets of lights and a couple accessories. Easy hookup and fits nicely on top of the battery under the plastic battery cover. https://denalielectronics.com/pages/ktm-cansmart-controller
That looks great. It's the exact setup I am looking for. Did you wire it to the bike's existing lights or a separate switch? Dimmer?
I purchased the kit from cyclops with the amber ring (drl) that's always on....I live in California where one freedom we enjoy is lane splitting. It's pretty high vis in one's rearview or side mirrors as I split through cars. The white auxiliary light is connected to the acc2 (switched power) in the headlight housing. It is triggered by the oem highbeam switch, no no added switches on the bar. When you hit the oem highbeam switch, the oem highbeam lights up as well as the cyclops lights.
....I did also order it with the skene dimmer, that allows me to run the auxiliary while running at low beam.
I've seen somewhere in this thread or maybe the accessories thread the high beam wire identified in the headlight pod for use controlling a skene dimmer or similar. My application would be much tidier if I can tie into a wire AFT of the headstock. Anyone know where I can tap the high beam somewhere around the battery and not take it out of the headlight mask ?
Why not tap into the wire coming from the left side switch module? Getting into the headstock is something I hope to never do again. 10 pounds of shit in a 5 pound can.
Does anyone know (or can try) if Baja Design Squadron Pro leds mounted hanging on a cyclops mount will work with a high R fender?
Sorry I was unclear: I mean, is there enough distance between the R fender and the mount that the BD will fit?
