So, Erik, any idea if you are going to attempt a similar tank for the F800GS or is it not really feasible? :ear

I will probably give it a try, but first I'm gonna do some modelling on another bike this week. There might probably be an Xtank on the market for another than BMW-bike shortly
    I will keep you posted

Ordered my X-tank today in black for the XMoto. Eric was very prompt with his response to my questions. Thanks!

Cheers Ray, there was some homework involved though
Hope it will be to your liking. It will be the first Xmoto equipped with an Xtank. All X's are looked after now. Can I count on some pictures please? :D

4 months over some really rough terrain, from Dagestan to new trails across Tuva, Yakutia etc ... and the X-Tank works as good as new.

The subframe is fine ... There are no modifications for where the 12 litre X tank mounts. Ihad to modify the luggage rack mounting points to take more load, but the X-Tank mounts are standard.

The chain has not hit the X-Tank all trip.

Basically, proof of concept is done ! :evil :evil The X-Tank mark 2 is officially perfect.

I cant recommend enough tho that if yo uare carrying luggage and touring, to think about a better rear end. The 7-8 kgs of fuel and tank wont make much difference, but 20-30 kgs of luggage will.

Despite the extra 60mm width of my jumbo X-Tank the baggage still goes around it easily. X-Tank is in here hiding underneath my baggage!:

Also in abt. 2 weeks a special version for the MY 2009 XCountry will be available. This will have a deeper recess for the sprocket and chain, to cope with the shorter shock / lower ride height.

    It's ready:

    - Especially for the V.2009 XCountry and Xchallenge riders who seek a shorter gearing in an extremely larger rear sprocket
    - 6,5 litres
    - Front view is still the same :D

I'm new to the X Challenge, so I'm sorry for the questions, I'm sure with additional reading I would have everything answered..
Is this the plastic tank I have heard about? (evolution from alum to plastic.)
If not, is this tank available off the shelf?
If so, how much $$ ?
Is shipping to the US any issue?

    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Hi Erik,

Just wondering if you will build and ship the larger tank, like the one that was built for Walter? The ability to have 9.5 liters would be ideal!

    Thanks in advance
    M.

    Erik,
I still want one of the larger tanks as well. Let me know when you can make them and if you have the pics and measurements I sent in early Nov. to the company email.

    Thanks and let me know!

Cody, yours is halfway ready. I will come back to you by mail this week.
I'm gonna try to find some time these (hopefully) quieter days to prep some more tanks. I will do some XL ones also to have to those in stock.
