I've been talking about an ADV MTB ride and a little interest has picked up, so let's plan a ride to pedal some bikes around on a mountain!

Ride Location & Length: TBD - The northern section of the Black Canyon trail is pretty friendly. I like South Mountain and Trail 100 too. Throw out some ideas.

Ride day: ASAP - Let me know when you want to go!

    Now with details!

    Date: Saturday, December 19, 2015
    Meet Time: 8:30 a.m.
    Meet Location: Rock Springs Cafe
Ride Plan: Shuttle to the Bumblebee trail head and ride back to Rock Springs Cafe.

I like the north end of Black Canyon trail as well. I'm open any day since I don't have a job. Maybe Charley, Big E., Buddy and a few other with MTB's will chime in?
Let's make it a slow paced easy ride to encourage new riders to come out. That's my 2 cents.

With the northern section of BCT are you guys referring to Spring Valley/Mayer? Are you guys planning on staging vehicles or riding in and back?

I was thinking of the Spring Valley end as a start and doing it as a shuttle ride. People could see more of the trail that way.

Here's the map (in blue) from Spring Valley to Black Canyon City:

Alrighty then - count me in! I'm waaaay outta shape but need to get my arse back on the skinny saddle to get in shape. I was thinking of something more local but I hear BCT is a good trail. You guys sound like pretty serious mtbers....hell, I still use tubes in my tires!

I'll have weekday time off between Xmas and New Years if any of you can go between the holidays..

We could just do Bumblebee and see if there's any survivors!

Yeah, maybe this is a bit much for our first group ride. Let's figure out something like Bumblebee to Rock Springs cafe.

Maybe Bloody Basin to Bumblebee? I thought that was a good section of that trail.

The ATR guys also do a weekly mtb group ride if any of you guys are members. Mostly west side stuff and BCT!

The plan is set! Details are in the first post. We're going to ride from the Bumblebee trailhead to the Rock Springs Cafe this Saturday. Meeting at 8:30 a.m. at the Rock Springs Cafe to shuttle bikes to the start. It's all downhill, so how hard could it be? :evil

How many miles is this ride? Is it going to be over before it even starts?

12 miles of eye popping single track. If it isn't enough for you, we can pick you up later at New River. :lol3
