Nibbets , good move, I used to visit friends in Yuma ( "where the fun never sets" ) Canadians are well known there for earlier happy hours then Yanks. they lived in Nanoose but have passed away. they were married 75 years
My house in Rural Port Alberni, 6 years ago , the taxes were $75 year ! because I qualified for the 2 available grants !
My last working day was yesterday.......still looking in the Okanagan for another place to move to. Cheers
Don't overlook the north Okanagan, we bought a place in Scotch Creek and will spend much time there. Great riding, both on and off road, not crowded, best lake in the province, good healthcare in either Kamloops or Salmon Arm, etc. BC is GREAT! Now I just need more free time......
with the bicycle....i suggest pulling the pedals, then flipping it tits up so seat and bars are on truck bed. would give motos more scratch free space. or dangle the bike over the tailgate. nice collection!
We chose Lake Country. Still kind of rural, away from the madness of Kelowna but close to everything you need. My second choice would be Vernon. Motorcycle riding is awesome up here, some of the best roads I’ve on. If anybody wants to join up for a ride let me know, Riding alone gets a little boring.
I think maybe I found the place.. Nanoose Bay. Belcarra-ish area 15 mins up the highway from Nanaimo. Ocean views, big lots, great houses. Close enough to civilization for groceries, far enough away to not feel like it.
If you want to meet other motorcycle riders, a huge group of older guys meet at Serious Coffee in Parksville every Sunday at 9:30 am not far from Nanoose.
That would be awesome, eventually. I'm still a couple years away, and I'm only 42. Can I be the youngest guy?
