But not too cold for a little ride.

Went out a couple nights ago and got a photo in front of a thermometer to record the moment.

First time I'd seen the lights on this bldg.

Was hoping to get more Christmas lights but it was getting late.

Got a shot of Barb's new sign too. CLOSED!!! Gee, they're open 7 days a week. Wonder if they'll ever be 24hrs a day?!? Maybe even with a drive thru?!? :lol2
    [IMG]

Went out again the next day as well for a photo of me in front of Snowzilla and to visit a few m/c shops. Got some good shots, came home to download em, saw them on the camera, and then BAM they were gone! The cold put my camera on the fritz! Oh well, just gonna have to go out again. :evil

    Warmest regards, Mark H.

You must have a garage! It's too cold for me to get out, 0º seems to be the low temp limit for the GS.

PS-you probably know that if you bring a cold camera inside, condensation builds up inside and can short it out. Take the memory card out, put the camera in a plastic bag and let it warm up in the bag and you'll have much better luck with that.

I think that makes you the low temp king for the southcentral area-at -20º I think you meet or beat Alcanrider. All hail the conquering hero!

    Thanks everyone.

Roberto, quit calling me those names. :lol3 Oh, and Snowzilla WASN'T supposed to be built this year. Somehow he "magically" came to be one night. Good article in adn.com if you want to do a search.

Thanks KL5A. Yeah, I got a garage. :thumb Thanks for the reminder about camera condensation. I'm actually using a submersible waterproof camera so I should be ok. I don't open it till it's warmed up. I think it messed up because I didn't take any precautions to keep it warmer during my travels and shooting. Worked fine on the second Snowzilla shoot and seems ok now.

Oh, and I doubt I'll EVER approach the temps Alcan Rider sees up North! IMO HE'S the man!

This winter does seem a bit tougher riding. I'm pretty well spent by the time I get home.

    Crazy fun. Mark H.

Well, I guess we're supposedly nearing the end of one of our longest cold snaps ever!

I think I'm going to link this thread to my ride reports and wanted to add the following pics from my little winter ride in December when someone saw me riding over to AK Leather and started a thread on it. :ricky

    Can You See Me Now?!?!
    <hr style="color: rgb(87, 87, 87);" size="1"> <!-- / icon and title --> <!-- message --> Too funny! I can't believe someone here saw me. :lol3

FINALLY got out today. Just a little bit slippery for my first ride of the winter season. :ricky

Also had to christen a new winter outfit. I really like being EXTRA hi-viz in the winter.

I asked my Duc brother Corbin come over to get some shots of me. Here they are.

When you saw me I was on my way over to Anchorage's newest movie house. Thus begins another season of winter riding in the Great White North. :thumb Mark H.

And since this thread is getting "stickied" for posterity I think I better include my little buddy Comet sportin his fleece booties that helped get him thru our near record cold snap. :brow

AKDUC: Had a friend go to Anchorage for a few days, when he got back I asked him if he'd seen a guy in a bright orange suit on a motorcycle.

His reply; "That dude is hardcore crazy" :rofl

Hello and welcome ADV n00b interiorak! Were was that shot taken?

I see from your profile you have a nice quiver or bikes but doesn't say where you live.

I went to school in FBKS for a couple years and loved it.

    Take care, Mark H.
