We visited the making of Crazy Horse today. Lots of history behind it and it makes you feel like an asshole for being a white man. Lol. Other than that it was a shitty 100 degree ride from there to just north of Denver. Adam is limping along with a by the minute stretching chain and a chainsaw sprocket. Wyoming is a beautiful interesting state full of lots of neighborhoods and condos...
Colorado Springs tomorrow to visit Mike and Amanda and do some much needed maintenance on our bikes.

There's a hot tub at the hotel so that is where I am going because my 35 year old body feels 108.

Thanks to all who pitched in to the go fund me to buy me some dinners and beers. Ill be closing that Tuesday and having to start using that money tomorrow as I have used everything I saved. If it weren't for the stator and rectifier regulator I'd still be in budget.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

I just added the dates next to all the day numbers. I Just realized we haven't done a good job of taking full days off. Guess we like riding too much. July 4th was our lightest milage day. Did like 40 that day.

We attempted to leave but the hotel wouldn't let us go. Our door handle broke trapping us in the room. The manager had to come and jimmy the lock from the outside. I'm glad the fire department didn't have to be called but if they did, they were in luck as the scene was secure. We all know hose draggers need the police to make sure everything is safe for them.
Adam's sprocket and chain barely made it to Colorado Springs. Once we got here we dropped stuff off at Mike and Amanda's and I ran to the local Cycle Gear for oil for us and I needed rear brake pads. The day was used for a much much needed maintenance day.
Tomorrow we are going to hang around and maybe go ride the mountains a bit or something. Relaxation is the point of the day.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Today was a day of hot weather riding. The goal was 350 to 400 miles but it was so hot. We came across a motorcycle museum in St Francis, Kansas. Cool little place.

Tomorrow's destination is more east somewhere. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

If you are still going to BMW rally ( there will be some real nice old bikes there) in Iowa there is the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa, IA and then in North Judson Indiana is Kersting's MC museum at Kersting's HD.

I scratched the Rally off the list as Saturday was the only day they offered a day pass.

It was hot. The first house of riding was 86o
Ish then it bounced from 93 to 100 the rest of the day. There wasn't anything picture worthy. We rode an hour then rested until we hit where we are tonight and got a hotel. Heat was kicking our asses.

Tomorrow is hopefully home. 350 miles left but may detour through Turkey Run State Park in Indiana to ride through some shade. It will add about 18 miles though. Our goal is kickstands up at 6am tomorrow to get more of a headstart when it is a bit cooler.

You may already do this when it's hot but I hydrate the nite before, soak my helmet and clothes in the morning with cold water, stop as often as necessary to hydrate/stretch ... and wear a camelback.

Sounds excessive but it works for me.

We hit the road about 0630 to beat the heat. We stopped off to see Mark Twain's child hood "home" and the Mark Twain light house.
The next tourist stop was Jungle Park. Now I am hope safe and sound.

I will post total trip mileage and other stuff later. Thanks everyone for following along and supporting us. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
