I'll be down there in a week traveling some of the back country from Bola to Mulege and some back country day trips out of Mulege so I'll be keeping an eye out for him.

    Hey gang,
Anyone stay at Campo Beluga on Gonzaga Bay in the recent past? I'm thinking about camping there for a night next week. In one of the google reviews, the translation said something about no motorcycles. Also, how's the sand getting there? I can deal with it unless it's a long section of really tracked out/rutted sand. As an example of "acceptable/not acceptable" amount of sand for the 1290, getting to San Francisquito - I'm good with the road that gets there on the north side of the landing strip but wouldn't want to take the narrow 2 track that leads to the south edge of camp.

    thanks in advance.

We were at Alfonsina's a couple weeks ago...there was some deep/loose sand at the south end of the lake bed...deeper and longer than I remember. We all had big bikes (me 1090). I think if you can do that on a 1290 you should be fine

Yeah, you can do it, it’s a little soft but you should be fine. I don’t know if I’d try it 2-up though. The sand at punta final out near the houses is very deep & soft. The last few hundred yards was a challenge on my 950.
