Just stay home. Businesses are closed along with all beaches and campgrounds. As are the breweries since they are not considered essential business.

Locals are even closing the roads in some areas.

Let me say it again, now is not the time to come to Baja. Stay the fuck home. Plan your Fall trip.

Yeah, same here. We were a day away from leaving and pulled the plug. This was my third attempt at going to Baja that got canceled.
Never thought about a fall trip. Is that a good time to go weather wise?

I am glad that the majority answers are showing common sense. I go to Baja to see the whales every year and was ready to go two weeks ago but canceled because of the pandemic. The Medical infrastructure and supply is a lot less in Baja then in the US. We need to keep away for now to help & protect Baja & it’s residents. The life you save maybe your own. :-)

The border is open in Tijuana and Mexicali. However, it is not recommended to cross the border for recreational purposes. Both sides of the border are asking the public to stay away. Crossing the border needs is for vital circumstances only.

I was there two weeks ago, Ensenada heading south. There’s a group of federal police and medical personnel stopping all vehicles. They’ll ask what you’re doing and take your temperature.

They had turned around several vehicles while I was there.

Coyote Cal’s is closed for now...mas o menos.

It is a good idea not to give police or emigration any excuse to detained you.

The police are stopping cars going south on hwy 5 at the military checkpoint at the hwy 3 intersection. Better have your residency permit and proof of your address. Turning around tourists coming from Mexicali. Several people I know have had to provide documentation to get through. Then again, it's Mexico so hard to tell what will happen at any particular point in time. All the hotels and beaches are still closed around San Felipe.

Today, Both the US & Mexico have extended the essential travel requirements To cross the border till July 21st. Because of COVID19. If you don’t have an essential reason to cross the Mexican border you, may/can/will, be turned back. Stay safe. :-)

Try putting a folded 20$$ bill with your tourist paper when and if your stopped at a check point.

Yep, that is usually a good work around however this COVID-19 issue could devastate the entire peninsula both economically and socially. This is a big deal for the Mexican Govt and it's unlikely that the tried and true practices of getting around the everyday policies and or practices will fly for a while. Don't be surprised to start seeing an even bigger military presence over the coming weeks.

    The time honored “mordida”.

They’ll most likely expect a lot more than 20 bucks these days
