On Friday, after the crash and carnage, I noticed my petcock gasket was leaking. Funny how I thought it was everyone else's bike reeking of gas - it was me! After I saw how long it was taking to get us out of the desert and into San Felipe, I started towards town early with Javi following. I saw an innertube on the way in and at the highway we made a new gasket (our truck buds stopped and asked if we were OK and we said yes - thank you). As we were finishing, Greg pulled up on his 950 and we waited. Then Steve shows and we waited - for a while. We then decided to have Steve go back and we would wait at Rice and Beans - then we changed it to the end of the race course. We waited at the end of the race course until Greg went to check Rice and Beans, and found a couple of riders - Or Steve came in and told us the news - I can't even remember anymore. But, we heard we were clear and that one of the bikes was getting trucked in. So, we went to Petes.... and ate, drank, and waited for the truck. Seriously, the guys were just getting ready to go back out when the truck finally came in.

Sorry for any irritation - not intended. All the help was truly appreciated, We had been told the truck driver and assistant may have been looking to go near rice and beans anyway - so it wasn't clear where to go - desert or town.

As I recall went like this...

    I was the injured rider
Bob was the guy the drove the truck
Ryan was the guy that took my bike to Pete's camp
and Jeff was the guy that went to Iuguana the titties Bar, to buy a t-shirt

danny :wave.. i've got no issue with you.. anyone that would leap frog a bike out of a sandwash by riding his bike forward, walking back and riding a fallen riders bike forward, is ok in my book.. besides you've got good candies..:clap..thanks..

    ..assistant..:poser:poser...

..WE DID TELL STEVE WHAT THE PLAN WAS... wait at the fuking end of the dirt road, and we'd regroup...

Here are the few photos that I took before the batteries in my camera died:

After I crashed on Saturday afternoon and hurt my knee, I headed to El Rosario to hopefully meet up with the other guys on Monday night. I stayed at Mama Espinozas. Good food and a decent hotel.

The closest I could get to the beach from El Rosario.

Room 11 at the hotel in the Mama Espinoza's complex will comfortably fit an XChallenge. Room 3 is big enough to fit ALL of our bikes.

I went north to the next little town, Costa Rica, and did some poking around.
