This is looking back at the final crossing (didn't get pics of them all) and it's usually the deepest and trickiest because of the boulders on the exit and some on the bottom too.

    We made it! :thumb

So we rolled down to Harmon Den and began making our way up to Buzzards Roost when we ran across a couple of more guys heading to the Notta.....their day wasn't going quite as well as ours was though. :uhoh

It turned out to be @RAW and his Brother in law (who fell down).....thankfully the rider was off the bike before it went off the edge! :knary

He looks quite proud of his work, does he not? :lol3

She was down there!!....sure glad he didn't go down there with it!!

    Mandatory stop at Buzzards Roost.

This is one you definitely do not want to slip off of!!

Took the shortcut down to Waterville....all the mud holes have been filled in with rock and the bottom crossing no longer has any boulders on it...just a mellow gravel road now.

It started clouding up again on the way back to camp via a run across Rocky Top...but thankfully it never did rain on us that day.

After hanging around back at camp I decided to go air out the mini....and got a little bit carried away and went on a big loop over Bug Branch and all the way back around Old 15th. :loco

Late Sat morning @Fearless and I followed the campground owners out for a scenic dualsport waterfall tour.

We turned left at the top of Rattlesnake Gap, I'd never been that way before...and there's a waterfall on it too? Cool!

Things got a little bumpier with embedded rock and then it got to be a bit of a damp and muddy two track, Jerry's wife wasn't having fun anymore so they decided to head back and send us on to the waterfalls....

@Fearless wrasslin the big ol Transalp through the mud holes...

All we found on that trail was dead ends...no waterfalls for us! :waysad

Oh well...I know where there's one down the 'other' side of Rattlesnake Gap! (it was probably the one we were supposed to go to anyway) :lol3

Back at camp.....us old fat folks need to get back in plenty of time to rest up before dinner by sitting around retelling exaggerations while the puppies run and play.

What Spot caught of two of the three loops I rode that weekend....I was a dummy and didn't have it on the mini's adventure.

Then what have I done as far as riding since Nottarally? Not much really, skipped the Vintage Festival at Barbers this year which was the very next weekend, it was just going to be too much time off all at once to do this year. Kinda glad that I did too as it was quite hot all the week and weekend, first week back at work after 5 weeks off was tough enough then add in doing it in what was still Summer like heat and humidity, uffda. I ended up dog-sitting the crazy Border Collie from next door and tried to hide in the ac and nap mid-day...think that I did get the Strom out for a short lunch run on one of my days off though.

Then last week we were hit by another tropical storm...Micheal. It dumped a bunch of rain on us Thursday morning but then moved through and cleared out quick with no damage at all here at home...very few branches down even.

Last Friday turned out to be a great day, sunny and just a bit on the cool side so I dug the big ol 950 out of the shed and headed up to the hills to have a look at Wilson Creek. :D

Water had receded already but it was obvious that the bridge on Playmore Beach had been under water the day before.

Signs of high water at the bottom of Brown Mtn Beach Rd too.

Wilson Creek itself was still looking like a whitewater wonderland.

From there I took a left on Craig Creek thinking there may have been some washouts in the lower areas that might be fun to ride through, but there wasn't...road was actually in really good shape. Up the twisty pavement of 181 for lunch at the Mex place in Pineola then back down Roseboro Rd into the Wilson Creek gorge again.

Only ride this week was a lunch run on the Sportster yesterday while in the middle of replacing more boards, caulking and painting on my stupid old house, rainy morning today so I've been just sitting here posting pics between silly household chores like folding laundry. It's about time for some Fall colors to start showing up though so here's hoping there's some nice weather on Fridays and Saturdays in the coming weeks.
