My wife and I were heading to a family wedding this past week and were going through Birmingham, AL on the way to Baton Rouge, LA. Hmmmm, that rings a bell .... Ah yes, the Barber Museum I've read about in other threads. Would have to be a quick stop for only about an hour, and the wife can go shopping just down the street.

So, while other threads have pictures of this amazing place, here are some more.

The central core, an elevator big enough to move race cars with motorcycles all up the sides.

Looking down at the basement - not open to the normal public.

Yep, Barber is quite a place. Went there in 2015 for the museum & then a race the next day. Pretty fun time, a great facility and fantastic collection of bikes.

The day I toured the museum, Kawasaki had their new (at the time), Ninja H2R on the track with a full factory support team. Barber had just procured Paul Newman's Lotus race car to restore & put on exhibit.

I love that place. I was here several years back. I raced Formula 125 enduro karts. We were the opening act for the SCCA race that weekend. We went through the museum 3-4 times that weekend. Even met old man Barber himself. What a awesome place. Looking forward to going back soon.

Wow is probably the most apt description. Pictures just can't capture the place. When I went a few years ago I also met Mr Barber. We talked a bit, then he gave us a tour of the grounds, and a lap of the track, in his Honda minivan!

Been to Barber a few times. I could and do spend hours in the museum. The whole grounds is nice.

I love going to Barber Vintage fest. Hopefully Covid doesn't screw that up.
