Thank you for all that wonderful advise, sometimes thought things dont quite work as they do in the videos..... Either way, base camp blows!!!!!
Make sure you zoom down far enough to clearly see where your inserting or moving the point. You could be placing it on the wrong side of a divided highway with regard to your direction of travel. Your routing preferences play a part too. daryl
Ok, I'll try to be more aware of that. If I discover what I am doing wrong or figure out anything helpful, I will post it back here.
All these replies are interesting; I just got off the phone with Garmin CS, and the rep told me that Garmin considers Mapsource to be better for older units -- like my Zumo 550 -- than Basecamp, which they created for newer units........ Personally I find them both tedious and will probably work w/in Furkot. Any thoughts welcome.
fill me in on Furkot. never heard of it. I use TrailTech RideLeader to create routes and fool around with tracks generated by my 60csx
Interesting GArmin usually poo-poos MapSource and says "we don't support it". Perhaps they finally understand how unfriendly BaseCamp is. I only do Tracks and find nothing lacking or unfriendly with MapSource.
+1 to Basecamp being tedious. I used Furkot for daydreaming, but haven't yet put anything in any of my GPS units.
