The Braille has a very unique battery post. Can you check and get back to us?
The KTM Braille and the GS SVR from Westco have the same dual-hole post.
Te SVR did not come with the xtra brass posts but did come with the adapters for side or top mount with the lil brass rings...

at least they are consistent.... I spoke with the owner, then I spoke to the main sales guy regarding pricing and some other stuff. Got two different stories and when it really came down to it, what I got from the sales guy, who indecently told me not to talk to the owner about prices, said "I'm giving you more of a discount than you deserve". Ya, from the sales guy when I let him know that $.01 profit margin was just not going to cut it on the B106. So I'm thinkin WTF? I'm not asking you to give it to me and sure, more volume usually equals better pricing structures but rude pretty much flippant attitudes are what I received. Based upon that experience I decided to not carry their batteries. I am sure that the batteries are top notch, personally running one right now and I can attest to its abilities so far as very positive, however if I can not be backed up by the supplier I am not stocking any of these for now until/if things change with their CS.
I recommend you go for this strong and slim battery
For an emergency battery when on a multi day trip in the MOFN when your battery takes a crap? Will the small one turn over an LC8? If so, that might actually be worth carrying when on extended trips offroad in foreign countries if its light enough.
I am having the same 'battery life' problems as everyone else.
I don't know whether its just me but I don't think having to trickle charge my bike every time I don't ride it for 3 days or carrying a 2nd battery on adventurous trips is that cool. I've had a few other bikes and they have sat around for months and still fired 1st turn of the key.
Surely 'reliable starting' would have to be toward the top of the list of key design objective for an so called Adventure bike wouldn't it :huh
I have been thinking of this company making a 10a/h battery for me. They are incredibly light, you have no idea compared to a lead battery.
However, without electronics to do the charging i have no idea how long it will last, in a bike used for everything.
The 5a/h should turn the bike but will lack the reserve you want on a big bike. a custom made 10a/h will be perfect!
My latest battery on the 990 is a Powersource AGM. So far so good. It seems to hold a charge after sitting a long time. One thing about the AGM's that I read is that they tend to just up and quit all of a sudden.
I had them build me one of these last month, but still have yet to install it and see how it performs. Looks good and weighs... less than half!
As a disclaimer, I am an employee of a Batteries Plus Franchise and I have to call BS on this comment.
First: The Batteries Plus branded battery which is labled "XTREME" has a one year free replacement warranty. Braille carries a one year warranty on theirs as well, in this aspect they are identical.
Second: Braille does not manufacture their own batteries, they are manufactured by East Penn Manufacturing Company and private labled. Click on this http://www.eastpenn-deka.com/default.aspx?pageid=510 to see for yourself. This has the solid threaded post you claim is so unique to Braille Batteries.
Third: Batteries Plus already carries these exact same batteries for much cheaper than Braille. We private lable our own under the "X-2" brand. At Batteries Plus this battery is warrantied for TWO years. Here is a link to Batteries Plus website: http://www.batteriesplus.com/m-537-.aspx
Lastly, these batteries purchased through Batteries Plus are MUCH cheaper than buying online from Braille. The X2-9 battery which is $79.99 at Batteries Plus is the same as Braille's B106 which costs $139.99. Add in the fact that you can purchase it locally, pay no freight, and have an extra year on your warranty; I think it's fairly obvious which is the better Value.
Again, I am a Batteries Plus Employee, and I did stumble onto this forum and decided I had to clear up this point. If you don't believe me call any Batteries Plus and ask for yourself.
My 950 stranded me last night after a baseball game. Battery is dying (3 years isn't bad). I waded through this thread and got excited and then wary of the Braile due to the customer service issues. I went by Batteries plus. The x2-9 is only 120 CCA. The replacement battery that they sell (X-treme) is Tiawanese. Not that I'm xenophobic but I have not have good experience with batteries from Taiwan. My KTM dealer stated that Interstate batteries were the same as Yuasa. Since the original lasted 3 years I guess I'll just replace it unless one of the battery experts can convince me otherwise

CCA: "120" (120 at what temp and how long? EDIT, found the test temp, 0degF, just like the Braille....)
Believe me, I do want to find a good alternate, and it does appear to be physically similar, however the weight and the CCA differences are interesting and worth explaining.
Either somebody is fudging their numbers or that .3lbs of lead is enough to make up a 90 AMP difference.... hmmmmm. And, if it is true that Braille has their batteries OEM'd by EastPenn, then may be Braille is a bit generous with their testing? Or do they have a extra special .3lbs of lead that get added?
120 CCA sounds way too low.
I want to know this as well, how high does the CCA go after the battery has heated up, and how long does it take to get there?

I have personally tested these batteries with an Autometer SP-5 Carbon Pile Load Tester and found them to be much higher powered then the listed spec. The 120CCA rating on the X2-9 is the WARRANTY spec, if it falls below that you will get it replaced for no charge.
Braille tests the batteries and lists their spec as the highest possible CCA when the battery is brand new. I guarentee you this is the EXACT same battery made in the same Plant.
EDIT: The reason these two batteries don't weight the same is because the X2-9 Battery at Batteries Plus does not come with a SAE Terminal Adapter. That .3 lbs. is the weight of that added terminal that you will not use, and will most likely take off before installing one of these batteries into a bike.
Yuasa's VRLA batteries are manufactured in Asia, if you are weary of imported batteries you'll want to buy East Penn's battery.
So you don't honor the warranty unless the battery falls to 50% of it's rated capacity? Sounds kinda crappy to me...
CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) is a measurment of amp output at 0 degrees F. As the temperate rises the Amp output of a battery will increase, because the internal resistence will decrease. There is a lot of misinformation concerning CCA ratings.
You will notice that most specs dont list a cutoff voltage. Some battery manufacturers and resellers consider battery failure at 7.2V, others at 10V. Obviously the CCA rating will be higher if you're testing the battery all the way down to 7.2V.
If you browse Braille's website you'll notice they list all their specs in Pulse Cranking Amps. This is a measurement of Max Amp Output for 5 seconds at 80 degrees. Keep in mind that this is nearly shorting the battery out, and if you are actually pulling this much off the battery consistently you will most likely only get a year or two out of a battery. They also do not list what cutoff voltage they're taking the battery down to.
