    Hi all and FYYFF,

New Tour 2019/06/04 published. :-) - Kaunertaler Gletscherstaße

3 years ago i stopped posting my rides in bavaria with my KTM 950. Now after 3 years on an GS Adv. i'm back on a KTM, and thought - ok - why not back with small rides in my area.
As i live south of Munich, it is also possible to reach Austria, Suisse and Italy in a day. Even Czech republic should be no problem.

    So let's start it.

    have fun

@buffalohunter: I had an Africa Twin for 250 000 km -- an KTM 950 -- the last 3 years an BMW 1200 GS Adv. and since one week the 1290 KTM.
The 1290 is at first impression more easy to handle, i feel very safe on slow turns. At the GS i had more problems in this situations with the weight. The orginal seat of the KTM is not good, will change it soon. The GS i used most at 3000 rpm -- The KTM more between 3- and 4000 rpm. (the KTM feels more agressive). At the moment (first 1000 km) i only go until 6000 rpm - somtimes i think i dont need more. :-)
I like the cockpit of the KTM, and at the moment i enjoy to get more wind then on the GS (Glas front). In Curves -- better on the KTM. Off-road -- can't say jet - will check it in summer in Spain.
-- so far the fist impression -- should write more about it after a while. Add. point -- it is better to ride than my old 950 S KTM. If Tina (my wife) joins me for her first ride ... i could say more.

Looks like you were near Garmisch-Partenkirchen. I did adventure training there in '78. Climbed the Zugspitse and did kayaking on one of the rivers. Beautiful area. I would like to get back there again maybe someday. To Germany, but specifically that area again. Climbed the mountain in August and I have a two pictures of me. One in a short sleeve shirt with backpack on the snow-pack. Another in the fog at the base of the cross on the peak with other people after we finished off a bottle of wine that one of the guys packed up.

I lived in Germany for 3 years. '77 to '80. Saw a lot of the country on Uncle Sam's dime. Including several tours on the Czech border and even got into East Berlin, back when that was a thing.

Great pictures! I was stationed in Hohenfels from 2002-2003 with the US army. I absolutely loved Germany! I didn't have a bike then, but got a chance to drive a lot of Bavaria. Seeing these pictures really brings me back. Keep 'em coming!

I decided to avoid the rain in Italy and went back down to Austria. Next try was Kaunertal

Begin of Kaunertal -- later it is a toll-road. 15€ to reach the glacier in 2700m alt.
