Yes thank you very much for a great weekend Mike. :rayof

The whole wrong day gang had a great time despite the carnage from the true day 2 - stage 2. Things got very interesting. :evil

We really enjoyed the routes: well planned, nice riding, good views. Exactly what we hoped to find this weekend.

    Looking forward to next year.

So as it turns out Mike led everyone organized enough to make it to the Petro-Can on time on the Day 2 route since it was raining in the direction of Day 1. We however were oblivious to this fact and rode the Day 1 route (along with Bill and John who were ~1 hr behind us). Luckily we met up with Dennis who was waiting at the Petro-Can in Chase.
Dennis "Are you guys the first?"
Me "Uhhh I don't think so. We were some of the last to leave the campground."
    Dennis "Should I wait?"
Me "I don't think anyone else is coming."
Dennis "Can I join you guys?"
    Me "Of course"

Checking the map after leaving the rain behind in Kamloops. We didn't hit rain for the rest of the day.

Great scenery on the route. We had no idea there was such a large lake hiding back there.

We were getting a little dirty

So we set out for Day 2, thinking that it would be shorter than Day 1 based on the feedback we got from everyone at the campground the previous night....

We were only able to complete 2 out of 4 stages :lol3

    Beautiful start to the morning
    [IMG]

It was a really nice ride

Taking a break at the lookout

Having a bit of fun... needed to rinse off some of that mud

Very nice NINJA somersault on that last video! Professional Stuntman Quaility!:1drink

Those "challenging" spots always seem so....so much more fun.... a couple of days later................for some reason:D.

Thanks for the organization work Mike and it was always good to muck about with Naomi and the crew.

See you next year with my MitasE09Dakars.

Oh and.......Good eye for the tall grass photos too!

When we did day 2 on day 1, we encountered no mud.......and I am glad for it as my tires were in very bad shape........just trying to get my money's worth out of them!!
We only encountered a few puddles.......but nothing like you guys had.

Sure glad you caught that get off on film.......because no one would believe that perfectly executed tuck and roll......too bad there were no judges on the sidelines for that one as I do believe you would have scored above 9 for each judge!

The only error we had was a tip over fall off when Caribooster tried to mount his 640......at least this time he did not take me out also!
Short guys and KTM 640's are not a great combination when stationary!!

    Cheers

    Mike,

I want to put out a big "Thank You!" for organizing the ride and suggesting to change the order of the routes at the riders meeting. After the Thursday morning riders meeting we headed back to get the Day 2 route sheets and then waited a couple of hours for the rain to subside. That worked out to be great as we did not encounter any serious rain or mud for the rest of the ride. :clap

After watching the videos and pictures I was wondering where all the mud came from.

    See you all next year.

Thanks again for organizing the event, Mike! We both had a great time and would come back next year. Though I've got to admit I was kind of hoping that you would fly the sidecar........

Here is Natasha playing passenger Saturday night after giving the reins back to Mike. She's still debating whether or not she's a future Ural owner.

    <a href="http://s910.photobucket.com/user/Kel_ds/media/bcbar2/untitled-6735_zps6cb2a0b3.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/advrider-photobucket-images/images/K/Kel_ds_bcbar2_untitled-6735_zps6cb2a0b3.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo untitled-6735_zps6cb2a0b3.jpg"/></a>

I definitely enjoyed the Day 1 ride of the Day 2 route - mostly flowing roads and enough corners to keep it interesting. I ended up mostly riding with this group from Washington. Gordie (hope I have that right) and I seemed to like the same pace.

    <a href="http://s910.photobucket.com/user/Kel_ds/media/bcbar2/untitled-6711_zpsa8c2863d.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/advrider-photobucket-images/images/K/Kel_ds_bcbar2_untitled-6711_zpsa8c2863d.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo untitled-6711_zpsa8c2863d.jpg"/></a>

Nicely routed for spectacular views, Mike.

Natasha had to work Friday, but made it that evening. We decided to abandon the planned route on Saturday to take in some singletrack.

Why the %@#$! did I use so much para-cord to tie on the saw?!

    <a href="http://s910.photobucket.com/user/Kel_ds/media/bcbar2/untitled-6715_zps315eb23f.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/advrider-photobucket-images/images/K/Kel_ds_bcbar2_untitled-6715_zps315eb23f.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo untitled-6715_zps315eb23f.jpg"/></a>

Treating our bikes like our little dirt bikes - it was far steeper than it looked. There were a lot of great trails. We had to turn around a few times, but eventually made our way from Hwy 5 to Hwy 1.

    <a href="http://s910.photobucket.com/user/Kel_ds/media/bcbar2/untitled-6725_zps978300ef.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/advrider-photobucket-images/images/K/Kel_ds_bcbar2_untitled-6725_zps978300ef.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo untitled-6725_zps978300ef.jpg"/></a>

Day 3 I left my bike parked at the campsite and Mike took me for a ride in the Ural - a interesting experience, to be sure. I narrowly managed not to drop my camera over the side.....

Great job of choosing the routes, Mike. Thank you!

And thanks to the Anacortes group who let me tag along at a pleasant pace that let us enjoy the scenery and the riding at the same time.

Thanks Mike for all your work in putting the ride together.
Thanks to Naomi, Alberto, Dennis, Graham and John with your mud removing tools and Ray for the tire irons to get the mud out of the front fender.
I made It home with the clutch slipping badly, the bike is apart and the clutch is on order.
    It was a great week-end.

Need more cowbell? Nah, need more riders, we had no shortage of cows, or goats, deer, pigs and bears for that matter.

So put down your Starbucks latte and get out there. My Russian rattlebox made it with no problem, so should you.
