Thanks..I am familiar with the Washington guy but may have a contact for someone local. Got a PM...and as far as seat concepts...we need to seats to be semi-custom. Our seats now need to be modified so would also need someone to hear what our needs are....but thanks for the links!:D

    Thanks for the reply.

So there was no meet up place and introductions, rules, restops, rendevous points, points of contact, etc... I know cell service out there is virtually non existent. I've never been on a group ride, and this one was big.

Just curious. Yes, it looks enjoyable. My journey up there was awesome fun as a solo ride, but for safety reasons, I would have preffered a riding buddy on my trip. I had no flats, no crashes or other mishaps, but, because I was solo, I was extremely cautious.

Funny... when I ride solo I ride like a lunatic... Naomi and the others keep me in check :lol3:lol3:lol3 I find that I learn more from my near misses and crashes... but then again I'm reckless :jump but always carry a SPOT with me.

We were a party of 5 riders. Showed up to the campgrounds and met fellow riders that camped there too that we hadn't met before. We didn't go to any meetings or rendezvous (except for the second night for dessert & the raffle @ the Value Inn in Lillooet). We rested when needed, stopped when wanted, helped other riders when in trouble. As far as I know there was no written 'rules' (common sense goes a long way) or points of contact, etc

Well... besides knowing where we were supposed to ride to each day (route and final destination) each party or solo riders chose where to eat, drink & sleep.

We found that the ride was well organized tho and I personally really liked the freedom of making our own choices.

We'll be back next yr for the 2013 BCBATR :freaky

    Cheers,
    Alberto.

Cool. Yes, I carry a personal locator beacon. Sounds like there was no accounting of people from day-to-day. Was someone in the rear sweeping up?

I will try for next year for sure. If all goes as planned, I may have used up all my vacation on a 5 week back pack trek across the Northwest Territories (not a bike trip) on the Canol Trail.

    Thanks for the reply.

Shade Tree Upholstery in Comox (250 339-3931) did a good job redesigning the seat on my '95 Tiger. Also suggested other changes to make the passenger more comfortable ... lower the foot pegs, put a backrest on my top box & move it back 2", etc.

I was a week ahead of you guys, but I remember that sand. It was nasty. Liquid baby powder.

Were you trying to avoid the downed bike in the first photo?? Or is that 2 KLR's that are trying to mate??

    Cheers
