Manxman & dr650bc present BC Big Trailie Ride 2 !!!!

Perfect weather and the great riders who joined us on made last year’s BC Big Trailie Ride better than we expected. We had so much fun that we would like to host another ride this year.

Although everyone is welcome, this year’s route is once again designed for the big dual sports like GS’S & V-Strom’s Etc.
The route is different from last years in that it stays mostly in the Okanagan region of southern BC and takes in the best scenic backroads the area has to offer.

Starting out from the Super 8 Motel (250- 378-9422) in Merritt, we will head south through Brookmere, Tulameen, and Coalmont to Princeton. We then follow the KVR( Kettle Valley Railway) route to Summerland & on to Oliver where we will stay at the Southwind Motor Inn ( 250-498-3442)

Leaving EARLY will avoid the slowpokes and allow a bit of fun. From Osoyoos, we ascend Anarchist Mountain – some of BC’s best climbing curves. At Bridesville, a little detour takes us to Rock Creek. Just past Westbridge, we take a series of KVR trails & back roads to Kelowna. From Kelowna, the route over the KVR to Chute Lake and down to Penticton (GOOD NEWS - rooms available at Log Cabin Motel 1-800-342-5678)

Following a select combination of back roads to Keremeos, its time to tackle the
infamous “GOAT TRAIL” on the way up to Apex Alpine Ski Resort. Don’t worry, there is an alternate, paved bypass of this section that is verrrry fun!!!! From Apex, we will head down the “Corkscrew” road aka the Nickleplate or maybe we should call it the “Stelvio” of dirt!!!! and on to Princeton. This will be a good spot for lunch and to reflect on the great riding before we all head for home.

These boys didn't say no little ones. They just say they designed the route to suit big ones.

Just a heads-up to book a room asap due to the strong tourism in the Okanagan. Each motel we picked to stay with has rooms right now, but are booking up quickly. I doubt there will be rooms available in a month.

We had several 6fifties on last years ride.

Basically the ride route is supposed to appeal to riders with the heavy dual sports. Its easy/scenic gravel roads and some twisty hard surface. I think these combination of roads are why most riders bought GS's and Vstrom's. Everyone had a great time last year regardless of which size of bike they were on.

well - looks like I'm jammed up in Kelowna for a while longer - If I'm still in this end of the province, I'm game.

just out of curiosity, what specific route do you have planned from McCullough to Kelowna? ( I ran the KVR last summer from Naramata to McCullough....Myra is still closed, and bypassing the bypass is how I dropped the Buell in Pooley Creek :lol3 )

here's the pics, for anyone curious about the terrain:

If you are planning on coming from the US, you are now required to have a valid passport. This is new - went into effect February 1, 2007.

    Just a little FYI
