    Nice :D

My father-in-law's Rt is the same colour. He's in his 70's and still rides an RT and a 1200gs:clap He's riding less now tho and he's angling for me to have one of the bikes off him and if i do I'll be following the same route as you. :clap I have no interest in the 1200gs, to bland.

Did this one back in '06; from this:

Rebuilt this 1993 CM250 back in '07. Very cool bikes, like a CR250 motocrosser with lights, oil injection, instruments, a wide ratio tranny, and a tag.
    Started with this non-runner:

Finished with this about a year later:

Built this VT500 Ascot for my wife in 2010, from this:

To this. She didn't like it so I sold it.

Last one, a '92 Suzuki 400 Bandit. Bought on CL as a non-runner for $340. Did this one for my wife too, she didn't like it either. I have to admit that it was kinda hyper for a first street bike. I loved it, probably one of the best looking bikes Suzuki ever made in my opinion. That little bike would scream.

She did look good on it though.

I'm in the process of doing an '82 Yamaha Seca 650 right now, and for something completely different, I have a 1973 Norton Commando and a '68 Triumph T100R in line behind the Seca.

A lot more pics documenting the build process for these bikes on my website in my sig line.

    Before....

And after I rangled her into what meets my needs....

All new tires and warp 9 wheels.
5 gallon tank and tank bags.
Motor swap... pull out the 91 and toss in my 92.
    Trail tech vapor.
Replace rear shock with a rebuilt stiffer sprung unit.
    Pro-link bush reset.
Change out forks for a set of 94 650l forks.
New chain, sprockets, discs and pads.
Replace the jacked up supertrap with an unmolested muffler from a 2000 xr6.

No big deal, just gotta have a plated dirtbike that's ready to go.

I pull up and get questions about "old school"....

    Nice job on all counts.
Any modifications look very well thought out & functional.

I'd really like to see the 650 Seca, been looking for one of those for years now ( a nice one anyway. )

Mainly didn't like the range afforded by the tiny tank. She hates to stop for gas.

Here's a couple of before pics of the Seca 650 from the seller's CL ad. I had to make a 300 mile round trip to get it, but for $500 with a clean title I couldn't pass it up.

The tank was a mess inside, someone had tried to line it and didn't do a good job; it's on a MEK soak right now. The carbs were pretty bad too, but are coming along nicely. The plan is to get it running to evaluate everything, then tear it down, fix the remaining problems, paint/polish/refurb, and reassemble to have it looking like it did the day it rolled out Hamamatsu. Hope to have the after pics ready in a couple of months. I need to start a build thread.
