    Alright, where to start ?

I missed out on doing a CO trip this year due to financial and familial obligations. that stress has been killing me. I don't do well when I can't road trip. I tried my damnedest to live vicariously through my buddy Crawford ( @beaterktm ) but it was pretty much torture being bombarded with amazing pics from his road trip. It didn't help that he's a punk and kept mocking me for not being there. I would have done the same! :lol3

That could have been me up in those mountains

So this ride kind of popped up last minute and really it's my last chance to sneak in an out of state ride before season ends. I've only had a couple of weeks to plan and get ready so I'm sure to forget something crucial. My route will consist of the small bike version of the FLAT route that I rode with my buddy Andy @FLARider1 earlier this year ( more here ). I'll ride that route to the GA border where I will meet up with the SEAT route. I'll take that north through GA and SC to Robbinsville NC where I'll meet up with a few friends where I'll hang out for a couple of days. From there , myself and a couple buddies will be doing the northern portion of the SM500 where we will pick up the western portion of the SEAT and follow it south where I will meet back up with the rest of the FLAT and ride home. Shit, I'm winded just typing that. I'm sure it will be fine...:knary

Moving right along I'll do a quick intro. My name is Dave . I'm 45 and have been a motorcycle rider off and on since I was 9. Most of that has been off-road. I inherited the addition from my pops. There's no cure but kept fed, it's an enjoyable affliction.

I left my "career" as a lead bicycle mechanic nearly 2 years ago in search of something different. Here I am in 2019 trying my hand at designing my own dual sport touring gear. I've had a ton of jobs over the years , some based upon my college studies (art and bio science) while others were based solely on passion like when I ran a performance shop that specialized in turbo charged small displacement engines. My happiest times throughout all of those years were any time that I was working for myself and doing something that I loved. Hoping to get back there.

I also enjoy long walks on the beach and the sound of mocking birds when they mimic car alarms.

None of these rides or my recent move to hemorrhaging money with each passing financial quarter would be possible without my beautiful partner in crime. Thanks @Sarahtonin , you're the best!

I'll be riding my 2018 WR250R on this trip. It's still being prepped but the lions share is done. Still need to change the oil and clean the air filter...

I'll do my best to do a daily update once I'm on the road and will finish a complete ride report once I'm back at casa Ginger Beard.

If I hadn't burned my vacation in CO I would opt to meet you along the way. I am just south of ATL so if you need anything just pop me a PM.

What could possibly go wrong? Smooth sailing, no pot holes, friendly people everywhere...and then reality hit. And it is that reality that makes it adventure!

    FLAT: Florida Adventure Trail
    SEAT: South East Adventure Trail
    SM500: Smokey Mountain 500

Also a big thank you to those that put in all the hard work to make the SEAT and the SM500. Making fun and legal routes for ADV/Dualsport is not an easy task. :freaky

Minus 2c here this morning. We just haven't had autumn and for that matter not much of a summer. If there was ever a year to have a broken collarbone and not ride it was this one.
