But where will we have scones
Just give Dave at Jimna a heads up beforehand.
Dean has a secret scone and quiche place that he rides his little honda too
I can overlook your letting out my little secret, but EVERY Honda deserves a capital ' H ' !
@BygDaddee likes it because it almost has Yamaha T700 colouring.
so when are you boys heading out for this ride ?
Thur, not confirmed meet up point, time or exact route yet but id say we will hook up kenilworth or imbul 8ish 9ish if you want to pencil it in
Wont be a big day
a bit too far for a starting point for the drz400e,catch you another time when i get the new bike for me 60th bmw 1250 rally or handa africa twin, sorry but dont like the look of the new yam700 or ktm 790
Just wait for them at the start of Grigors Rd at Connondale, would be a fair bit closer for you on the DRZzzzz.
Not sure i would want to take a big BMW up through there, but i am no fan of big bikes. Would certainly give you a good workout.
Was still around 200 klm on bitumen on the little bike. Front tyre is stuffed now.
Thanks Cruz, most helpful. Do you think you could arrange to get a few more of those "Easy" signs nailed up around the place , well everywhere really!
Would be easier with a bit more off road type tyres fitted to your bike, but I have been through there quite a few times on the OEM road tyres 17/17 at about 30psi front and rear. Do you have a bash plate fitted?
Yeah , got eBay (Thai) bashplate....similar principle to SW Motech etc. While I'll replace the tyres with something more suitable eventually , so far I've found them surprisingly good. In dry conditions I've never felt the tyres to be the limiting factor.
will global warming be finished by thursday for a ride ?
I was planning on avoiding the subject. I'd hate to be such a hypocrite as to pretend to agree with a bloke just because he's got the local knowledge and a GPS.
On the other hand, to return to a nice safe subject, the WEATHER should be quite a bit cooler by then....might be an idea to get through Bellthorpe early to avoid forecast possible showers Thursday
If you have had enough by the time you hit Bellethorpe Rd then i would turn left and go down to Stoney Creek Rd and Woodford. If you go right you can always cut left down Mt Kilcoy Rd instead of going all the way through to Jimna. Or go near the end and turn left down Ten Mile. Each of these will take you to Kilcoy and fuel if you need it.
But it could cost you an arm and a leg to stay there.
Had a bit of a look around today and now have a good overview of area and its various acces points etc....all thanks to generosity of @BygDaddee . Excellent day out. Thanks again mate!
