bent F650 rim

    My buddy bent the front rim on his F650GS (alloy tubeless) on our ride today. Fortunately, we were able to refill and continue the ride home. It doesn't look horrible.
    Can these rims be hammered back gently (say using a brass hammer and something to back it up; or is the back and forth too much?

    I'm not sure I'd hammer it, but years ago I got a huge pair of vice grips and using an angle iron to distribute the force along the "good" side of the rim
    was able to successively coax the other side back into something that looked reasonable ...
