FWIW, I just went through this last fall and saw lots of reviews of Orca's outperforming Yeti's, yet retails ~15% cheaper. Then found out Bedbathandbeyond sells them online with free delivery (and in store return if not satisfied) and they hand out 20% off coupons like candy. :-)

Thanks @Snapper. I'll check it out. But I decided in short notice I'm just going to wrap my cheapo up in refectory and use dry ice which I found local finally . And I t s cheaper than I thought $1.35/lb. That should work for this three day trip, but I do need /want a good cooler now that I'll be living in my toy hauler. The house is going on the market in may when I return to Pennsylvania to tie up loose ends

I've kept ice for 3 days in an Igloo Xtreme before, so I think you'll be fine.

After a day or so, the frozen stuff will start pulling heat out of the ice. Ice can be 30* or -30*. Get the ice as cold as you can. Pre chill the cooler.

Well, check pricing of course... I just noticed that my 20qt Orca MSRP is now only 5% below the Equiv. Yeti... perhaps the pre-coupon 15% I got last fall includes some BB&B sale?, or maybe Orca bumped their 2019 prices?

Been using the same Horizons Ltd. softie for over 2 decades. American made, indestructible, super-insulated, keeps ice ice for days, easy to pack when empty, cost effective.

Not bad, took 2 years for the mods to screw with this thread.

    It's in a better place.

I have this cooler, bought it on a whim and it's been pretty damn good. As stated, the zipper is very stiff if you dont put the lube on it

Check out the brand KYSEK. Company was started by the former head engineer at YETI who got tired of YETI cutting corners. Mine is 100 liters and has 4 inches of insulation on every side and the top. Kept out of the sun, even in 80 plus degrees after 9 days stuff was still frozen at the bottom.

Way down here in south Louisiana, i use an Engle and a Yeti for fishing. The Rtic holds just like a Yeti. There are plenty of choices, some at better prices than the Yeti. There are articles on various sites particularly in fishing category that assess each. If you want something top of the line and unusual look at Kysek.
