Likewise, awesome RR! Really like your writing style and outlook on life. I really want to explore Thailand now :)

Thanks for sharing it all, and hope to see photos of your palace on top of the great wall...

Where do the gun turrets and moat go? :lol2 Or will there be a tower with a rotating light on top?

Looking good! I'm thinking your decision to do the drainage properly was a wise one!

I can see you like your Tiger and am pretty impressed with some of the roads you have taken it on. Are there other options in Thailand that you would consider?

Thailand has a lot of big bikes available now. 10 years ago not so much. I’ve been thinking about a smaller lighter bike. My problem is normally I like to travel with Patty so need something big enough for two and enough suspension to cover the roads I like to take. It limits the possibilities

I fixed that by having two bikes

The quick response pane says "Your brilliant reply " but I admit that I am left speechless. I cannot think of anything to add other than that this might be the single most interesting thread that I have ever read on any forum. Cheers.

I have been thinking over buying one of these VanVan 200 as an alternative to my Desert Sled for local trips, I rode one in the Uk, I was just talking to to some guy that had one in a supermarket car park of all places and he just said take it for a spin, I did and I have to say it was pretty dam good, had enough power (Sure prized me) was soooo comfortable and made me smile. Suspension travel I believe would be pretty good for Thailand, I would not want to go around the world on one but on the other hand, I know you could do far worse, it is a very comfortable, practical bike and not stupid money either. Going to check it out at on my next trip to Thailand, whenever that may be ?

I wonder if the fat tires would be available over there?

Not much happening on the ride reports I follow. Patty is over due for a air bath.

Packing time. I left some stuff in the other bike. I think. I’ll figure it out when we get to it

Patty doesn’t like the packing program. She’ll be ok once we are rolling again

LOL it is not just my wife then that looks like she has been shot when she sleeps, our Thai women sleep like no others I have ever met, one second wide awake the next dead to the world. Looking forward to your nexr repoert my friend, also looking forward to a month in Thailand at Chrismas, 6 months after that I will be retired, full time in Thailand, O Happy Days.

Sounds good to me, you are not that far from me, maybe 3-4 hours, no more than that.

Just finished this. Very much enjoy your writing style and Patty's obvious dedication to getting "the shot". This RR pushed me even closer to sending that 2 weeks notice in that I've been pondering for some time.

Ok. I’m a bit slow on this next part. I forgot to sleep for the past 5 months and apparently it’s caught up to me.

In between naps I found time to do some minor repairs on the bike. CF31350C-AD6D-4DC5-A642-8B0ABBEBD350.jpeg

We’ve been enjoying time with family here and my brother in law has asked us to stay a bit longer. Should be rolling when Patty says giddy up...

04:30am. It’s raining outside. I roll over to check on Patty. She’s staring at me with big eyes. She kicks me square in the chin. WTF? Then says the two greatest words a woman can ever say to a man: “I’m ready”
