Thanks for your suggestion. Definitely considering this.
I ended up getting these:
Mostly because of their small size.
My Africa Twin came with the lights found on post 1320 page 66 of this thread but they were mounted to crash bars which I have removed and at the new mounting location which is the Denali aux light mount they hang too low and I think the font fender may hit them if the suspension compresses a lot while bars are turned. Otherwise I would have just kept them.
These look identical to my Baja Designs Squadron Pro. Has the same white FR4 PCB, same housing, similar lens.
yeah they do.
at one point in time, a spokesperson from Baja Designs warned about buying them, saying they might be confiscated!
So, I mean if you buy them, keep in mind, some people might try to take your lights at some point in time.
they are pretty good lights for the money!
I just measured the amperage of my BD SPros. At 12v they are pulling 8.3A for two. 12v*8.5A=102W or 51W each.
The Alibaba version claim 50W per pair, so it seems the circuitry is different between the Alibaba version and the BD version.
44 watts out of the two of these alibiaba lights.
but these are too bright use in any sort of traffic, or city scenario.
so yeah dimmed is the word.
same PC board, similar looking lights... half the wattage is likely to last longer and run cooler.
I am not racing in the desert at night.
A little less than half the watts but 1/20th the price!!!
yeah there is that, Id like to compare some side by side
I guess I should go to more rallys and stuff
but I dont like crowds, haha
Anyone know anything about these? They look like a great addition for my Hypermotard and it's crappy headlight.
I have no experience with them but the lack of specifications apart from '12V 50W' would make me steer clear. If they were legit they could set themselves apart from the rest by telling you the type of LED used and the current draw, among other things. There's a reason they don't.
how about this one, what do you all think.
How are these working out for you? Any feedback to share and photos?
Look for to your reply!
Look closer at the pics in the listing. Those are Halogen lamps not LED.
Thanks, I hadn't caught that. I'll keep searching.
I put these on and am pretty happy with them. The size is perfect, they feel pretty stout (for whatever that is worth) and, while I have aux lights primarily for conspicuity, I am fairly impressed with their lighting capabilities.
Mounted these on my '18 Tiger. https://www.twistedthrottle.com/denali-s4-trioptic-led-light-pod Mounts are SW-Motech .
Those look great, and will definitely be noticeable by cagers coming at you! Would you mind if I put those pics on our vendor thread
Shine On And Show Us Your High Beams
I think people would like to see how they look on a mighty-mighty Tiger!
Your Denali Design Team
Sure thing. Always happy to support a good product.
I just bought some really inexpensive LED lights at Harbor Freight for my DRZ400S. Using the ubiquitous coupons I got two spot lights and the wiring harness (with switch, ring lugs, and fuse) for less than $70. I fabbed up some mounts and Bob's your uncle. They are a bit large and heavy but for the money they seem to be a bargain and are very bright. Draw is 15 watts each side. Time will tell if they hold up as well as Denali and Clearwater. The same setup can also be had at Tractor Supply for just a couple of bucks more if there isn't a HF nearby.
And thank you for putting in the relevant specs for the lights.
