Thanks for the nice weekend guys :thumb
Weather was great and sooooo much more comfortable at altitude than down below :knary
Great to meet Mike @Shodan2 and Randy @MojaveSidecar. Both excellent fellows :beer

Would've been nice to have you out there Joel. You know you are always welcome :nod

My digi cam died on my last ride and haven't replaced it yet, so few action shots this weekend. Too slow and too much trouble to dig the cell out.

    Mornin' Mike :wave

Hey guys, was great riding with you! That same Sunday explored some more west of Angeles National forest. Mostly cliffs and no green there, also, about 37C around mid-day! Lots of sportbikers zooming around there! Yielded to them... Also passed one fellow who spilled :-( Well, out of about 50 sport riders, one spill per weekend... It is what it is...

    Anyone coming up this weekend?

Оust a few miles west from Wrightwood on rt2 - there was a dirt biker on the side, with a flat, waiting for his pal in a truck to pick him up. Now the funny part - he said he put about 11psi in his tire that got a flat. I was like "Well, that's why you got a flat..." But he was insisting that such pressure is fine for a dirt bike, and he just got unlucky. Well, it's the first dirt bike rider I've met with a flat, and he's the first one who intentionally leaves less than 15 psi in his tires... My 1190 is throwing a "low pressure" warning below 36 in the rear. Might be a bit conservative on KTM's side. But I've seen videos of serious KTM offroaders say that anything below 25 psi in an ADV bike, on rocks is asking for a flat. I can see how a light dirtbike can be okay with less than 25, but 11... Methinks the guy had it coming :-D

Saw that guy on the side of Hwy2 sunday morning on our way to Wrightwood. I slowed and he gave a thumbs up :thumb so didn't stop. He was one of the two we saw ride past camp and back.

10~15psi is fairly normal for small bike trail riding. I usually run towards the higher end on my 540 for dual-sporty rides. Lower end invites pinch flats at higher speeds on a road with rocks.

You were doing good on the 1190 with the Trail Attacks, which I would rate as 100% tarmac tire. Surprised the "low pressure" warning is that high.

I typically run 30psi on my 950 on and off road. Sometimes bump up to 35~40psi if I know i'm gonna be on pavement for a loooong time :puke2

Dirt bike ... flat ... waiting for buddy with truck ... ???

Saw a similar sight on the side of the trail in CNF a while back. This guy actually bitching at AAA on the phone cause they won’t come pick him up

When did fixing a flat on a dirt bike become an issue?

Got out for a quick unplanned ride with dad yesterday :ricky

Haven't been down Prairie Fork this year, so today we did :nod

Doesn't look like there has been any effort to maintain the road. Lots of small debris slides and three large tree falls blocking part of the inside lane. Plenty of jeeps have cut their way around, but pretty tight on the outside edge for them. No problem on a bike.

Rough section crossing the wash at the bottom.

There were two large trees down across the road near Lupine Campground.

Lots of tire tracks around both of them.

Campground was looking much nicer than expected, but clearly not maintained.

Facilities still exist and seemed to be usable, but bring your own supplies :nod

Back up to Blue Ridge and out to the end.

Just about noon and I was getting hungry, so we raced back down to Wrightwood for lunch.

USMC has been doing this since the early 1980’s on their KL’s. Before that, I dunno.

Matt. Nice ride and glad to see the RFS bike is living up to its reputation.

You have failed on Ersin and now Chu.

Took a moment :hmmmmm ... but understood :nod

Looking to get out for a quick ride sunday (or monday?) morning.
Maybe just up to Lake Gregory for early lunch and home before it gets too hot.
Likely on the 690, trying out a new map.

Perhaps Ersin or Chu will redeem themselves :deal
