Picked up a 2020 300rr. I’m loving it so far.....maybe not the seat tho. Glad to be in the Beta owners club.
Let’s play a game called Guess The Hours! Mind you, my jetting was admittedly off (rich)for about a year. Still oil injected. MY18 300
Add 100 to that. Thing is it wasn’t just carbon. It was wet. Coming from 4t I thought it was pretty clogged up when I first opened the can. I was always bad at checking these things out in a timely manner Note: this kit doesn’t provide enough packing for the factory FMF can. It is not only not dense enough it’s not long enough for the baffle
I'm at 65 hours on my 2018 300. Given winter just rolled-in, I'm putting this on the docket. Thanks for the reminder.
No problem. After seeing this I’ll get in there much sooner. For future.. use nutserts instead of rivets so you can just unscrew everything next time around.
my 2020 factory pro xt300... if there are any Alabama beta riders here I offer discounts to beta riders for day rides and yearly memberships.
@swamp Dude... It's been a while! Killer XT you have there... If memory serves this is #3 for you, right?? What's your thoughts on the balanced engine?
Pretty great new reviews on the 2020 2T's Factoring in the extra fuel the Beta is carrying it actually weighs less than the Husky right out of the box as well. https://www.cyclenews.com/2020/01/a...g5xbVZAUYGAy9zKCs7jiTctIgbjjTWUCmZzBqORdXSxbQ
The ground clearance concerns me a bit on the Beta: 12.6 inches versus 14.2 inches on the Husqvarna. Where I ride there are spots where even 14 inches still scrapes the skidplate or pipe. An inch and a half is the difference between a scrape and a gouge - or worse yet a sudden halt. I know that the Beta has a lower seat height, but the tradeoff in reduced ground clearance doesn't seem like a good idea. Unless it's adjustable?
I understand your concern for the reduction in ground clearance however for those of us with shorter legs the compromise is acceptable. It's too bad that the article didn't include seat heights in the specs.
Question from a mountain biker and street (motorcycle) rider, are rock gardens like the ones in your picture actually fun? My guess is it depends on the bike and rider skill level.
Question from a mountain biker and street (motorcycle) rider, are rock gardens like the ones in your picture actually fun? My guess is it depends on the bike and rider skill level.
That’s like asking if Coke or Pepsi is better. All subjective perception. My opinion: they’re no fun on an adventure bike, but they’re a fun challenge on a dirt bike. They’re more fun when you’re not tired after a full day of riding. They’re more fun when you get to sit back and watch your buddy struggle through them. They’re less fun when they damage your bike. They’re less fun when they damage your body. And keep in mind not all rock gardens are on flat ground like that picture. On hills they provide more/less fun depending on what kind of crazy you are.
Ever lift weights and be left sore for days after, but still go lift again? It's kind of like that. Couches are comfortable, but nobody accomplishes anything sitting on them.
