that's what the article said. feel free to take it up with the author.
Heck if I know. I'm not willing to follow him around to see if he's purging or not.
If he isn't, though, what would be the media's - or his - reasoning for reporting it so?
It’s The Sun. The on-line version. I don’t think accuracy is one of their watchwords or even really of interest. Next you’ll be worrying about the Daily Mail on-line.
Because it’s The Sun. At least look at the source.
But don’t look AT the sun itself.
Well fuck those assholes for printing something out of line. I ain’t got no time for that.
But it seems my wife found a much better use for any extra money I might have right now. A completely bizarro house on 40 acres nestled in the corner of ~1300 acres of commercial forest land with a conservation easement. Possibility of singletrack out the back door for days. Might even be able to put together a commute to work that's ~75% singletrack.
Of course, moving into this will just further cement my standing as "that guy":
And the price is now low enough that it should be raising serious red flags....
your wife might be on to something here.
You can come stay in the guest house on the property.
that's about my speed.
Seriously though, the UP is on my short list.
Ha. All these 1X15 or what ever fashionistas will be the first to jump on the 4X8 bandwagon just as soon as Shimano and SRAM decree it be so,cause it's SO much better, now you can really pedal a bike! All that has to happen is the 4X8's to be on showroom floors...........and video's of hipsters with man buns climbing cliffs and jumping over dumpsters out behind a starbucks, with their 4X8 pulling them through, front end pawing at the sky.........
Out in the beautiful morning with the hounds !!
Half way water break.
Tyler thinking just give me a push off and I'd ride this thing.
Now back to work on my project.
Stupidity is bliss
Alright, let's play "diagnose my legs."
Yesterday: haven't got a ride in since Sunday, yesterday being Friday - notice multiple times that my leg muscles are on something like a delayed-twitch when climbing the stairs. Not all the muscle fiber is coming 'on' immediately, so getting up the stairs is slower and awkward.
Today: same thing, except on the bike - and in reverse. Un-twitching (unflexing) is slow, so a number of times my leg would ride up over the top of the pedal stroke by being forced to - the quad was not relaxed enough to be ready to go over the top of the pedal-stroke on its own. This made for some rather lumpy WTF pedaling at times. It wouldn't happen in successive pedal strokes, but even for it to happen during one pedal stroke once in a while, it was fucked up.
Twice I considered calling an Uber just to not hurt myself further, especially after a major calf/Achilles cramp sent me flying to the right and off of the bike lane (lucky to have a driveway there for part of it).
Based on my diet the last two days, I should easily have enough sodium and potassium.
Going to take it easy tomorrow - if I can ride at all.
Nice murder house.
RIP Ed Zink. This is the man who put Durango on the map as a world class cycling destination. Absolute pillar of our community.
Little business trip to Scottsdale AZ Wednesday through Friday, so a few days off the bike with the normal expense account over indulgence. I went out with my buddy Jay this morning for a 35 mile road loop. Perfect day with sunny skies and 70 degrees. The nasty Santa Ana winds we had all week are gone, and the sky is so clear.
A couple of long 12% grade climbs made me pay the price for traveling this week, but I survived. BB on the new Niner is making a very annoying “click” under heavy loads, and I’m going to have to tear into it to see if it just needs to be re torqued. .
It is conceivable that one could hide a lot of bodies in ~1300 acres.
I am tired of the trails closing for every sprinkle. I built a small track in my back yard. I have a lot of work to do yet, as I broke the shovel. Burming the turns, setting the obstacles, clearing buckthorn....will all happen eventually, but I'm happy with the plan. After a few laps, I was breathing heavy, which is why I need this track
Chronic over use, pushing too hard? At one point I had the seat a little/lot low with these goofy/ass pedals and shoes I use now.
And it killed my quads, especially the right which is the longer leg. I rode a while like that and it took a while for the quads to come back to normal.
well, considering that I hadn't even been on a bike since Sunday, and it was Friday when I noticed bad-legs on the stairs, I doubt it's over-use.
