    Back getting closer.
Welded in crossbrace on swingarm and mounted a tyre.Time to work on repositioning the dual range motor. The gbox housing will hit the jackshaft.

Fun times getting the dual range to clear the jackshaft.
It looks like by taking the bottom engine mount bolt out and tilting the motor up it will clear enough to run a 14 tooth outer sprocket. This leaves me with having to make engine mount adapter ,probably like the ones you use when fitting a china motor in a ct .

Fat tyres require wide shock spacing . I suppose you could always just angle them in .In my dodgy mockup i used wheel nuts screwed onto the standard top mounts and ran a 12mm bolt in.

    2017-02-27 09.01.16.jpg

Then i thought why not weld a 12mm bolt to the wheel nut and turn it down , use what i have laying round.
Not quite finished but good enough for testing

I have those shocks. Make sure all of the parts are properly tightened, or they will come apart.

I have had these shocks on another bike for awhile, luckily they haven't come apart.
The only thing i found was they are a bit stiff so i let a bit of gas out.

I lost the lower retaining plate on mine. You are right, pretty stiff, even for my fat ass.

Made out of a piece of solid, thread over original mounts then butt up tight and lock on.

Any progress on that monster motor?
I have a few CT90 motors, a few ATC 125M motors and an XL185 motor. I would like to know what the easiest way to use the 185 top-end on horizontal cases would be. Ideally it would be using "whatever I have laying around".

Also I resumed work on my Pull-Start CT90. Your ATC front suspension swap showed me how to put the new front suspension on mine so thanks for that. :beer

    Um no progress atm.
Need to get back onto it
The easist way is cut the front of the cases off weld on a block off alloy and machine to suit. There is a bloke in the uk that has built a few variations using c90 .

Tabarnac Jack! I've been reading the Big Bore DIY thread (SPOILER: you have to register to see it) and the technical abilities of those three guys (you know the ones) is incredible. :eekers
I thought I knew stuff but I realize now I'm just a caveman with hammers and flat screwdrivers. :lol3

In my head i keep hearing .....sidecar.....sidecar.....sidecar..
The trouble with riding 6+hrs a day you have heaps of helmet time and i am really digging sidecars.
Oh and another one of the coast to coast posties is coming home.
All of a sudden i have some motivation again .

    Dual motors @WILL_S
I had a mind design using a cut down Postie tub and swing arm on a sidecar and you could use a 110 to drive the sidecar wheel and a Big Bang motor to drive the bike
