Hi Eric and Steph! Glad you were behind me then to get that bike off of me! I am with BD in amazement you made up that road 2up. Then to have Timmer show up with doughnuts and I think you had beer! That was so perfect!

It wasn't me with the doughnuts, but many give me credit for it. I think it was LC1.

Hey guys, awesome RR! I’m planning to spend a few days in the Black Hills. I’ll be on my F800, but will have a couple 1200’s join me. We’re looking for some easy scenic dirt roads as we head out of the Hills and make our way back to AZ. Your pics from Day 1 (Newcastle to Douglass), and Day 2 (Douglass to Medicine Bow) seems to show amazing, nice and easy ranch roads. Were there any hairy sections that I should steer my group away from, or was most of those sections relaxed and flowing like the pics lead me to believe? I’m sure the weather plays a huge factor based on the ruts. :)
    Thanks! -JB

    It was all easy.
Only issue was the mud hole and that may be dry now.

Great ride report!! Wyoming is a special place!
I did a portion of your trip back in 2010, started in Glendo Wy on my KLR
As I'm getting older, I'm chicken to ride that alone again

Glad you liked it! I understand the getting old bit. Mark did a great job putting this together. Glad he invited me.

I am entering my 5th decade, and I'm hesitant to ride my KLR in the sticks also. Especially alone.

You, my man, are a Whipper Snapper! Get out there and ride! I do understand though, and as the decades pile up I'm going lighter and lighter in the bike department. Need to be able to pick up the beast.

I did that ride when I was 50 ten years ago, but I understand how you feel!
If you have BigDog as a tour guide, how can you not have fun!!

I always loved the smell of the sage on the high desert plains of Wyoming
