Sometimes its minor, sometimes serious, sometimes your dealer/importer/producer let you know, sometimes not ...
So here everything I get aware of, starting from 2017. To be continued.

    7/8/17
    HUSQVARNA 125, Model year 2018
    The Hazard
Due to deviations in the manufacturing process at Husqvarna Motorcycles’ official supplier, brake caliper assemblies front and rear might be incomplete with the anti-rattle plates and cotters possibly missing.

Therefore, both front and rear calipers on all affected Husqvarna Motorcycles must be inspected for completeness by fully trained technicians at authorised Husqvarna Motorcycle.

    What to do
These affected models and vin’s are not released to customers (end users).
Affected vins are to be checked and corrected accordingly to be prepared before sale to customers.

    24/7/17
    BMW R1200GS, Model years 2013-2017
    The Hazard
Clearance developing in the fork tube caps.

    What to do
Seek your local dealer for further information and a check to be carried out on your bike.

    22/5/17
    HUSQVARNA TR650, Model years 2013-2014
    The Hazard
Market monitoring has shown isolated cases of occasional stalling in the engines of TR 650 Terra and TR 650 Strada model vehicles.

If the engine stalls, this could lead to dangerous riding conditions and pose a safety hazard to the rider and other road users.

    What to do
Owners will be sent a letter to advise them of the recall. Owners should contact an authorised Husqvarna Motorcycles dealer to arrange a booking as the ECU of the vehicle has to be remapped at an external supplier's facility.

    15/5/17
    Yamaha MT09 and XSR900 Motorcycles
    The Hazard
If an external impact occurs on the lower handle bar, engine vibration may cause the lower handlebar stud to loosen and fall off.

If the lower handlebar stud loosens and falls off, it may result in loss of control and a potential crash hazard.

    What to do
Consumers will be contacted by direct mail. Consumers should contact their local Yamaha dealer to arrange an inspection and repair of the motorcycle.

If you no longer own your motorcycle, please advise Yamaha Motors

    27/2/17
KTM 1290 Super Duke GT, Model years 2016-2017
    The Hazard
Due to leaks or potential leaks in the fuel hose used in specific vin production, it has led KTM to demand replacement of the fuel hoses.

    What to do
Contact an authorised KTM dealer without delay to make a booking where the fuel hose will be replaced free of charge

    9/1/17
    KTM 690 Duke, 690 Duke R, Various years 2012-2016
    The Hazard
Due to deviations in the assembly process, contact may occur between the wiring harness and the ABS modulator.

As a result and in certain situations an electrical connection may be created via the brake line, between the ABS modulator and the vehicle ground. A conductive brake line can overheat and ultimately melt which can result in failure of a brake system circuit.

    What to do
Consumers will be contacted by direct mail.

Consumers should contact an authorised KTM dealer to arrange an appointment for an inspection of their motorcycle. Unless visiting your dealership for inspection, avoid riding the vehicle until inspected. The vehicle will be checked and repaired free of charge as per the manufacturers guidelines.

About 2 out of 3 bikes around the globe being affected isn't really "isolated"...the next major hurdle being to find a Husky/KTM/ BMW dealer who is
    a) able
    b) authorized
    c) equipped

do do the job. ECU has to be mailed to Italy (for NZ+AUS/Pacific) to be flashed.
Don't wait for any possible letter (they might not arrive this century), get onto a dealer quick-smart.
BMW+KTM were rather "monitoring" their corporate bank balance than monitoring the market....action was solely brought by the pressure of owner groups.
The recall affects ALL TR's (Terra+ Stradas) ever built/ sold.

    Thanks for posting this up.

    Renthal Motorcycle clip-on handlebars
    The Hazard
The affected parts can fail due to stress corrosion cracking.

If the parts fail while riding the handlebar clamps can become loose on the fork leg causing the rider to lose control and crash.

    What to do
Stop using the handlebar clamps and return the part to Renthal for a free of charge replacement set.

    What to do
Please get in touch with your Ducati Service as soon as possible to schedule an appointment for checking and, if necessary, replacing the rear shock absorber assembled on your bike. Honda GL1800 Goldwing, Model years 2001-2010
    The Hazard

    INDIAN 8-BALL, Model years 2010-2017
    The Hazard
Victory engineering has determined that, in certain circumstances, some Cross Country, Cross Country Tour, Cross Roads, Magnum and Hard Ball models may experience damage to the rear brake line.

Motorcycles experiencing prolonged misfire conditions may produce increased catalytic converter temperatures causing the retention clip securing the rear brake line to melt. In extreme cases, the retention clip may melt onto the catalytic converter, increasing the risk of brake line damage.

    What to do
Contact your nearest dealer to arrange bulletin completion.

INDIAN CHIEF, CHIEFTAIN, CLASSIC, ROADMASTER... Model years 2017-2018
    The Hazard
Indian Motorcycle has determined that some motorcycles equipped with halogen headlights may have been assembled using a non-compliant headlight not matching destination market requirements.

Affected motorcycles, designated for sale in North America, may be equipped with an E4 (European) headlight assembly and are not considered compliant per NHTSA standards. Conversely, certain International models may be equipped with an SAE (North America spec) headlight, which is considered non-compliant per ECE standards.

    What to do
Contact your nearest Indian Motorcycle Dealer to arrange bulletin completion.

    TRIUMPH PR3, Model year 2016
    The Hazard
A bracket introduced at start of production for the affected models may interfere with the link lead, resulting in damage to the outer protective sheathing and, over time, potentially exposing the wire. Contact between the bracket and the exposed wire may lead to an electrical short.

    What to do
The original Link Lead will be removed and replaced with a new identical part, which will be routed so as to avoid possible contact with the bracket edge. Owners to contact nearest Triumph Dealer to have recall rectification carried out.

    The Hazard
Indian Motorcycle has determined that 2017 and 2018 Scout / Scout Sixty and Scout Bobber models, equipped with Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS), experience decreased brake performance resulting from the presence of air in the brake circuit.

Affected models have had a small amount of air present in the system, which after time, cause a soft brake lever / pedal feel and a decrease in brake performance.

Hello I am looking to buy a 2013 Terra ABS and wanted to asl if you can tell me if I can contact the company in Italy to reflesh the ECU?

The bike I am looking at has no p problems so far I could see but i did not tested it yet to know if ithas or not the stackling problem. The local Husky dealer is no help as they just got the dealership in the country and the former dealer who imported this bikes does not exist any more here in the Domninican Republic.

Do you think its worth doing the reflash or getting me into such a bike. It has only about 17,000km on the dash which by the way already has the buttons worn out. So what can you recommend me. Thanks.
