Hey, just wondering if anybody knows a good place to rent a bike in Mumbai. Nothing too fancy, but a place to get a decent bike and helmet. Also, any good overnight trips around there? Are ther many places out of the city to put up a hennessey hammock? Please feel free to share any cool trips. Thanks.
I doubt I can be of much help as I live up North. All I could find was this link that google turned up: http://www.indiabikes.com/rentals.html
Many places, mostly beaches , less than 3 hrs out. See: http://motoroids.com/vb/tourer/414-hot-location-suggestions-around-mumbai.html They've just done a server "upgrade", so are not having a very good time at present. Also the book "52 weekend getaways form Mumbai". Mind you, some of the getaways are, lets say a bit optimistic for a weekend, though. indiabikes have fairly new bullets, but can be very expensive if booked at the last moment. If you are here for some time, maybe buying something and selling it later would be a better idea, as most other bikes (non enfields) are significantly more reliable.
I am actually staying only a few blocks from indiabikes, so looks like I will be on an enfield. Unfortunately I won't have time to buy and sell a bike, though that would make things much easier. Will try to check out the Mumbai getaway book, thanks for the suggestions.
Even i visited mumbai and had plans to get a bike on rent to start rest of the journey to the north . But it was very difficult to get a bike on ent . Either the bike was not in good condition or it was too expensive . So i bought an enfield worth 30000 rupees . So if you plan to rent one make sure you contact the company beforehand and know about the bike and rent .
Just arrived in Mumbai this morning. In the country for work. Busy place. Saturday night tonight! What to do...
