Is that style plate reserved for vintage bikes or used on all motos in Portugal? Regardless, the older Beemer is a long way from home, nice to see it long striding, stretching its legs.

That license plate of all the vehicles in Portugal until the 80s. It really was very striking.

Yes, this is the plate for all the motorcycles in Portugal.
The diference is that now the background is white and the numbers are in black as you can see on my bike.

This is now my favorite thread, but shouldn't there be a rule that it can't be your own bike? I mean, if it's yours, you DO see it every day. And if you're the guy who owns the 7 Guzzi 1100 Sports, you see 7 of them every day. Just sayin.

In the early 80s I saw a very cool-looking dude in a tshirt with a blue bandana (in place of a helmet) riding one of these classic Indians (Chief or Scout, I'm not sure which this is) and i thought it was the coolest looking bike I'd ever seen. Have not seen one in person since.... until this weekend. Was coming down Hwy 1 past the Zen House in Pt Arena and noticed this little beauty sitting out front....

My friend Brad's street legal TZ750 makes a lot of smoke and racket running through town.

Neat - bump start every time?

I can't imagine that size tank gets him very far either.
