Hi there. I hope some of you might offer me some advice on this one:

My wife and I are planning The Great Trip next year, from mid June to mid August, 8 weeks. We are both MC riders and want to tour Canada by bike with our kids (10 and 14 next year). However, the kids prefer to sit in a sidecar on longer trips. We considered bringing our own bikes, but maybe it is possible to get more out of it by renting bikes either in Vancouver or in Montreal, depending on where we start. Any idea where one might rent decent sidecar bikes for a decent price?

    Thank you in advance.

Don't think you'll find any bikes with sidecars for rent in Canada. Some Harley Davidson shops rent bikes but not with a sidecar and depending upon where the rental is located you may not be able to legally leave the province you rent in. Bring your own bikes if you have that option. Might be pricey, but I doubt you'll find alternatives

Plan on spending most of your time in Western Canada, the most beautiful part. There are BMW bike rentals in Calgary not sure about sidecars.

sidecar rigs are few and far between here. You might want to arrange a Purchase-Buyback with a Ural dealer.

The other guys who posted are right; I doubt you will be able to
    rent sidecar rigs here.

They are also correct about BC being a wonderful place to ride,
also the east coast, and northern ontario.

The problem is crossing those damn prairies....

Thanks guys. I'll check out if it's possible to make a purchase-buyback-deal. I'll get back to you re possible routes, if that's ok.

    Here's a website for a friend of mine: http://www.sidecarcanada.com/

He does installs and repairs, but has been into hacks forever, so if there's one available to rent, he'd know about it. His name is Tom, you could ask him.
