Tarmac is dangerous!
Conquer those demons!
I just signed up for the 2021 Dog Face too. Tawmass always puts on a good event.
I will definitely be at the Dog Face!
After watching some POV footage of Prospect, I think the Dog Face finally needs to happen.
OK, so links?!
I love this story, Made my day! Do you still find he gets lost frequently or was it a one time thing?
There's actually more to the story - I'm usually the navigator in the group. On that day, I split from the group of guys I normally travel and ride with because they wanted to do a special double-A section of the course and I was going to do the A. We planned to wait and meet up at the next section and continue the course together. Since they didn't study the route THEY got lost too, so I rode the rest of the day by myself! That was a perfect combination of events to play out. Today I am still the navigator, spending hours pouring over Google Earth to find the most interesting destinations. He's happy to tag along, even if I get us both lost.
Wow! Thanks for posting that trail.
Rode that on an early DS, years ago.
Was one of the first riders out on that DS, and when I got to the single track at 7:28 there were no other fresh track heading up that then, narrow foot path. The trail was not as "used" by bikes back then and I did not believe the roll chart, but I searched the area for another route and indeed that was the route. When I rode that trail, it looked like very few bikes ever rode that trail.
I do remember the drop offs on both sides of the trail.
This is a trail you will not forget.
My bike at the time was a Honda XRL kick start that was at times a PITA to start, that sometimes needed to be push started.
Needless to say I was very concerned not to stall on that trail, riding solo.
What memory's are made of.
Thanks again for posting this vidio.
Anybody know when the Black Dog is this year?
...wait it's this coming weekend? Really? Let's go then!
Stoked for my first time at the Black Dog next weekend, you all make it sound like a blast!
It is a blast. It really gave me a new perspective on organized events. I'm kind of an introvert, solo-riding guy. The Black Dog made me realize riding solo, surrounded by a bunch of other people, can be a lot of fun. And, any time I can spank the monkey is a good time.
Been to many of these, going again this year.
Departing from Camano Island, WA (north of Seattle) Friday morning. Returning Monday. Towing a 19ft toy hauler, have room for another bike and rider. PM me if interested. My route to the event is not determined yet.
Anyone have pics to share!?!?!?
Rowena vista on day 2. Old cemetery on a cold and wet day 1!
It was definitely wet on first day to 1st checkpoint. 2nd half was less rain and warmer. Beautiful ride
Thanks for sharing!
