Great pics, Billy! I'm gonna dig around on my old SD cards and see if I can find something to contribute
Also, I'm hoping to head out to BW Sat. afternoon...
Here's a few...
I'm sure you'll find some black water in here...
great pics .thx for contributing
Just checked ups tracking my seals wont be in until monday.so i am going to have to miss this one .that drz looks like i was doing well at interstate speed .......
JENKEM...it's a lonely path
Those are some good pics of Relaxation Canyon. One of the very first places I followed Hooli McGee and Mug to. Now closed.
It was good while it lasted...
Sorry to hear ya won't be out there Saturday! Like Lone Watie, I'll endeavor to persevere. Yeah the DRZ does OK at 75 indicated now, and is getting better mileage than ever before--67 MPG with the last tank. Way better than my gas hog KLR!
Here's a pic from 3/16/08, only 3 yrs ago but seems like much longer than that. Exploring BW with emckissack, who along with XT Thumper has completely disappeared off the ADV radar screen. I bet Mug is the only one who knows exactly where this shot was taken. This place used to be a "hooligan rest stop" of sorts. Now closed.
I'm def. going to commit to exploring with you guys, since BW is so close for me and would like to see more!!! Everything looks like fire roads and trails, but just out of curiosity how much is paved? My knobbies wouldn't last long, except for short jaunts and connections to other trails.....Awesome pics by the way!!!
How much pavement ya do is yer choice, as you can usually string a pretty good route together and just use pavement to connect the dirt sections. Madhouse has a super nice route thru BW and Conecuh NF (part of it is the Robbie Robinson Hotshoe Route) that's ~100 miles and about 90% dirt. I followed him on it 5 yrs ago on my KLR650. Maybe not the best choice of bike; both Madhouse and JP spent a lotta time waiting on me, as I recall. But much to my surprise, there was absolutely no ball-busting or criticism!
Those guys can flat-out haul the mail thru the woods!
It was Madhouse who introduced me to the dirt roads of BW (thanks, mang!), and that was a real game-changer. Summer '06
Caption should read: Now what kinda Dipwad would bring a KLR out here??
seems u can connect most all of the roads useing pavement just to cross to the next dirt section... this place is a good place to ride
OK well all this BW talk has me jonesin for a ride. Turns out I have today off since my job got cancelled. This, mah frenz, is the Hand of Fate and who am I to argue?
Eastbound in 30 minutes...anybody wanna go for a ride?
I am stuck in work hellll. I will wave as u pass by
