I want to print some decals in German, so I would like to use the correct term for 'Airhead'.
Is it 'Luftkopf' or perhaps something else?

    Vielen Dank

Gummikuh :deal (Rubber Cow) Interesting, when you translate "Airhead" you get "airhead" in German. Only "Air Head" translates as "Luftkopf". It may be the English term has been adopted as German slang...

I have a suspicion that 'Airhead' might be the adopted term in German. I'm hoping a German member will set me straight.

    Ja, Luftkopf ist richtig.

That is when you want to translate Airhead into German.
However nobody in Germany would know what you are talking about.
Airheads ( the bikes) are called 2 ventiler Boxer / zwei ventiler Boxer / two valve boxer.

Also /2 are called rollenlager boxer because their crankshaft is supported by roller/ball bearings instead of Gleitlager/ plain bearings.

Thanks! I guess Gummikuh it is.
I'm guessing 'rubber cow', as it's handling makes it stick to the road and all the other vehicles better MOOOOOve over to get out of its way as it passes them :getiton

Square1 has it right, here in East Germany they're know as 2V Boxer, meaning two valve in German.

Fully faired sport bikes are called "joghurtbecher", a plastic yogurt cup!

"Gummikuh" we use for pre-paralevers, which do *not* raise their backside before going forward - like the ones before.

We call everything between /2 and R1100x "Zweiventiler". 2 valve heads. That's why our main forum is named like that.
