BMW Canada just published the C400x on their Canadian website.

    http://www.bmw-motorrad.ca/ca/en/index.html

I’m in the market for either the Yamaha XMAX or the BMW c400x. If the XMAX is not available than I’ll seriously consider the c400

Price is not published but was told its $7540 by a local sales manager.

It would be smart not to price it much above Vespa GTS300/BV350.; they'd have a hard time selling it.
Looks gorgeous. Asian manufacturers don't understand tall people ergonomics. I trust this BMW will
be much better for tall people.
Looks like the hump between the legs is wide enough to carry something (sleeping bag, dry bag, sleeping pad).
Pretty plastic covers of the CVT and whatever else may make it challenging for servicing.
The top speed is less than my CB300F with actually 286cc, but still enough for Canada.
    Decent fuel tank capacity.
How much will be to replace the pretty looking dash?
    Anyway, I feel VERY interested.

Uh-oh, the seat height is less than Vespa's. The foot rests definitely don't look any lower = more cramped seating position than the GTS300 (?)

It isn't cramped for the average American rider. 5'10" 30" inseam.

I haven't sat on a GTS in a while but I don't remember them being overly large or small in the cockpit.

I believe the C400x comes standard with the TFT dash.

    Look at French stuff.

Uh...eat and drink really good French stuff.
Listen to hot French girls talking about French stuff. In French.

    Take lots of Vespa pictures.

Get up in the morning, order an espresso and croissant from a hot, pouty French girl and go look at some more French stuff.

There are lots of things to do in France.

Enjoying freshly baked pastries and breads, macrons, historical sites, etc.

People watching is great depending on where you’re at.

Seeing all the various motorbikes & scooters boot thru the city lane splitting.

    ......don’t forget the shopping.

    Some random guy there.

There was a pic of me on the bike posted by SealSam. I have a 30" inseam.

I wrote about it somewhere. Felt nice. Decent room and good reach. No bar to knee issues. Felt heavy but that most likely will add to stability and smoother ride.

Could not see under the seat or any of the storage compartments.

That one had heated seat and grips. If you check the left grip you can see the control for the menus on the dash which was neat as well.

If it isn't too much more than the Xmax, probably a great machine. I bet it is over the price of the Burgman 400 as configured.

If maintenance is normal BMW then that would be a big turn off.

The Canadian price of the stock c400x is $7540 vs $8,000USD plus.

I’m not sure how more the bike will sell for with heated grips and heated seat.

I’ve only owned the Yamaha SMAX, how much maintenance is required for scooters other than oil changes? I only took my SMAX once for a $120 oil change. That was the last time as well......that’s a lot of $$$$$ for 1 litre of oil.

The BMW 310cc motorcycles are built in the joint venture BMW/TVS factory in India. A lot of German machine tools and quality control. The factory turned out 1 million BMW and TVS motorcycles last year.
The 400cc scooter is built in the same factory.

Pretty sure this is a Kymco build, not in India.

Oil changes are easy. Belt changes and Valve adjustments can get expensive if you don't do them yourself. Even air filters can be big $$$ on some scooters. Scooters tend to have short valve adjustment intervals. Some are easy to do like the Smax and some are real complicated like some of the maxi Scooters. Short valve adjustment intervals combined with hard to do would be a deal breaker for me. I don't know how those things are on the BMW.
