You have changed from and back.
what did get, power torque ( low speed for offroad)?
It's all here. My experience starts at post #79.
Concerning the seat of the F800GS, I will change it ASAP. Last year, I did 1500 km in less than a day and a half and it was killing me. My butt was aching. I know a guy who also used to ride an F800GS, lots of distance covered in little time and he bought an inflatable pad as a first aid... but he told me he planned to change it also.
IMHO, too rigid. I already picked a guy who manufactrues them - handwork. I even know guys who have RT BMWs and changed the seats and they are amazed at the change.
HI, all I'm planning trip from vancouver bc to the southern tip of s/america. I want to get some advise how to cross from panama to colombia. whats the best way and any other info that I can get. I'm a bmwmoa member that would help? thanks
Ask http://www.pacificmotosports.com , they use to help with shipments.
I'm new on this forum, for two years I was riding a 950 Adventure (which is sold now) and now I want a new bike
Two weeks ago, I tried the new F700GS and it would be a great bike for me...
Now I want to try the F800GS (if I buy one, it won't be a new one) so I was wondering, does the stock 2008 F800GS have an AC input (I don't know if we can say "AC input" but I'm talking about where you plug your GPS cable to charge it)?
Sorry if I make some language mistakes, I'm swiss and try to write my best english
Yes. Ja. Oui.
Thank's DolphinJohn !
Is it at the same place as the 2013 model, next to the neiman?
Yes it is! Oui c'est ça! Ganz genau!
(I live in the french part of the Switzerland)
Thank's a lot!
Now I just want to test this 2008 F800GS... I'll have a holiday week in one week so I'll have time for it
make sure that all the recalls has been done
Which recalls must absolutely be done on a 2008? Is there a list somewhere ?
For what I recall it's the Chain and the Fuel Pump. You can easily find this on the net (even on adv )
I could not get it to fit with a 16f and 47 rear
Can't say I'm surprised.
No "list" compiled here but this thread might help: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=490550
For the moment I see these recalls:
- Front axle
- Fuel Pump
- Fuel sensor
- Gas tank which cracked himself
- Coolant hose?
- ... ?
In case I buy this 2008 800GS which is not covered by the warranty anymore and the recalls are not done, what is the policy of BMW? Can I make the recalls for free (that was like that with my 2004 KTM 950 Adventure I bought in 2009) or will they charge me?
It's just me, but I would ask them to certify that the recalls had been done prior to my purchasing it. I'm not sure what happens if you buy it and then find out the recalls have not been done.
Well you are right!
But the bike isn't in the garage where I go normally (and which is near my home)... I'll ask for proofs that the recalls are done when I'll test it. I think most important is the chain, gas tank and front axle...
And I can ask the garage where I go normally for the BMW policy...
EDIT: Or a can buy a brand new F700GS but my wallet don't like this idea
I don't know about Europe but I believe that here in the states the whole idea of a recall is that it's done for free as the manufacture is correcting a fault that they were unaware of at the time of manufacture. I believe the obligation is to the vehicle not the specific owner. A call to a BMW dealer would confirm.
