MichaelJ, how is your center stand working out so far? I think I want one but no chatter about them. I know 3 months isn't exactly long term, but you seem to know what works with little "BS".

I'm 5'11, with a 32" inseam. He was able to narrow up the front of the seat so I can flat foot the bike most anywhere.

Thanks - about what I figured. You have 4-5" of leg on me.

A friend has a Laam seat on his Tiger Explorer and it's at my outer comfort limits. Very nice seat, though.

USPS tracking said mine arrived at USPS Baltimore at 5am today (15 minutes away), by 10am it was at another USPS facility 2.5 hours further east.

I'm just whining and don't really mean it, it will get here when it gets here... I'm heading out for a week on a river in Utah anyway....
When I get back I'm hoping to hear good things....

It turns out that the loud rattling noise I’m getting at high revs is actually the clutch lever vibrating like mad. Seems like some sort of harmonic/resonant frequency issue. There’s a fair bit of play in the vertical axis and the lever just goes mental!

Oddly there is a similar amount of play on the brake lever but it doesn’t suffer the same vibration issue.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

I’ll show my dealer but looking for suggestions here too...

Made it home yesterday after a ~1650 mile ride up to northern Idaho and back, including a few off-pavement bits along the Lolo Motorway and a bunch of Forest Service roads in central Oregon. This bike is a better adventure tourer than I originally allowed myself to believe when I picked it up in March.

I look forward to doing some more touring while the summer lasts. If only this #%&@§ smoke would clear around here.

Rattle around 4K rpm left side is mirror glass loose for me. Tap on mirror shaft or handlebar. Service manager at the dealer, "That would irritate the hell out of me." Warranty replacement. We both laughed about it.

Woodworks, or any one with an F800GS. Could a G310GS replace an F800GS?
Have an F800GS and a WR310R, thinking about selling both but wonder if a G310 could replace both.
    Any input appreciated

Just completed 5K trip from Ferndale, WA to the Arctic Circle via Fairbanks then the Yukon River Camp. Flattened front and rear tires and bent both rims on pot hole 10 miles from the Arctic Circle on the Dalton “Highway” so did the last 10 miles on two flat tires and two bent rims. Have GoPro video and lots of pics. Six of us made the trip, 4 were BMW GSs.

I banged those rims hard repeatedly on the Lolo (aired down to 20 psi), but they didn’t bend on me. I guess I just got lucky.

See the crack in the rear rim near the dent? Both sides of each rim as similarly dented. Think BMW will warranty?

GrizzLee: Arctic Circle on your BMW 310?
We had perfect weather and the 310R with the OEM street tires was the best of all our bikes on the Dalton. Those tires and my 310R were perfect for our complete 2400 trek from Ferndale to the Arctic Circle and made it possible to ride the last 10 miles on two flat tires. I was doing 40-80, about 65 when I hit the pot hole but the bike rode it out and did not throw me at the pot hole. This BMW 310R is a fantastic bike! I’m 5’3”, 140lbs, 68 yrs old.
