Just wanted to mention here that I have a set of used Xmoto plastics and a used Brittania Composites Lynx two fairing for a Xchallenge that I will list later in the fleamarket.

Okay will a bashplate from a X country fit a X Challenge? There's one in the flea market that I'm thinking about getting to modify with a toolbox similar to the one I made for mine a Jef in NZ.

Cool. So now I have a project on cold snowy days if I want to. Maybe someone down the road may want/ need a nice plate with a little storage.

Just be advised the OEM skid plate for the XCountry is made of plastic. I my opinion not a good candidate for adding a toolbox.

No it's a touratech aluminum, but I don't think it's the larger one.

I figured that would be an option too. And thinking about it. I might check it out for adding a tank instead of the toolbox and see what I can come up with

Mine was aluminum.. took it off and replaced with Touratech. What year is your XCo?

@cyclopathic , did you buy the bike new like that or could it be that the previous owner already replaced the plastic skidplate with the aluminium one from the xchallenge?
I'm pretty sure the OEM xcountry skidplate is plastic.

My XCo is a yellow 2009. I replaced the plastic OEM skid plate with the OEM XCh aluminum plate and added the OEM Case/engine guards. Touratech's skid plate has some wings that flare out to better protect the engine case. Scheffelmeier Metall also sells a couple of even larger/beefier skidplates including one with a toolbox. They also sell a set of stainless steel wheel bushings, and a high mount fender kit. Cool stuff.

Here is a link to Matt Snook's in depth description of skid plates (and some bonus suggestions). When in doubt, I just ask myself What Would Matt Do? (and check his webpage). Anybody know what happen to Matt, is he still on here?

On my Xmoto the exhaust header burned a hole in a coolant hose it was touching.

Could anyone take a photo of how much clearance there should be between them?

Are there much alignment in the header, or might mine be bent? IMG_20200105_194624.jpg

Clearance is only 3-5 mm. the header touching the exhaust usually only can happen with the fitment of an after market muffler.
Undo all fasteners and clamps and the clamp between the two main exhaust parts, try and rotate the two parts of the exhaust between each other to get clearance.
Then do up all fasteners starting at the header to cylinder point first.

The header should be able to rotate a little at the head, the muffler might rotate a little in it's clamp where it is bolted to the rear frame at the back.

Anybody know where to find one of these Touratech subframes for my insurance quote? Higher the price the better. Thanks X'ers! tt-sub.jpg

I believe those to be long gone. However, an inmate has fabricated his own version and is selling them - try a search.

Google and advrider search is not helping. Any idea where one can find the link to it?

    Asking for a friend...

Same for me! Nothing comes up when I search the forums and generally speaking Google is not good at finding something this unique hahaha

Basically the reason why I threw this post up here on the forums to see what other inmates had available
