Cee and I are planning to ride from D2D to Great Falls for the National. We went to the BMW national rally at Billings in 2015 and enjoyed it, though it was hot, and since MT is basically "next door" ...

Dapman, Ace, myself and maybe a few others are contemplating a visit to Griffals next June. Most likely a fly and ride. Hacky keeps a GS in Seattle and will probably join in. Because of impending Daisy Duty I will miss D2D.☹️
I have attended many Nationals and 2020 will be a hoot.

Fite, sorry to hear you'll miss D2D due to Duty. Perhaps we'll see you at the National. We're contemplating leaving the GS's stateside and/or something. The Alcan and I are way too familiar.

While a little irrelevant to the thread, but somewhat pertinent to the upcoming event, I was at the MOA booth yesterday at the IMS show, killing time since the show was so lame. So I'm looking at all the literature they had on the table as handouts, pick up a folded piece of lit, open it up, and guess who's puss is staring at me......yep, it was Fite's. MOA must be getting desperate for models I guess.

Well, unless there are 2 almost 7' man childs floating around with a handlebar mustache that I could do chin ups on, it was you. You were on the far right of the pic and Bob Aldridge, who could do a pretty stand in for you if you are ever targeted for assassination, was on the left. I had to do a double take at first. I should have grabbed a copy of it, but the thought of walking the bike show with your pic in my back pocket was more than I could handle. I'll reach out to the lady who ran the MOA booth and see if she might have one I can send you.

    Interesting indeed.
Would like to see that...... if nothing else to confirm or deny.

    "almost 7' man child"
    That's funny chit.

Close, but the hair is too dark ! I remember the first time I met him, we were talking and after a minute or so, I noticed his lips weren't moving while he was talking, then I realized I was eye to eye with his belly button. He's a big dude......

Heading to Great Falls after D2D as well, but via a side trip back to Fairbanks first. Will be a good shake down of the new bike.

One might wonder, while being confined to isolation with bike mostly ready to go well maybe an oil change and tires and a bath, what events will actually be held this June or if inventing and carrying a "had it and recovered" badge will magically open borders and doors, but haven't had it and don't really want it given uncertain outcomes. Or one might stop wondering and go back to working on bike with tunes played loud enough to drown out nonsense.

That is exactly what I have been doing. R100GS is running great with new top end. R1250GS runs nice too, but so far has only gotten about 3 feet into the snow. Might have to put the knobbies on so I can at least ride it around in circles in the driveway.. More snow coming...what gives...

It looks like we are going to lose a ton of money from all the Alaskan bikes that we were going to be storing.

I have no inside info, but the MOA president said the board will make a final decision in early May. I think there is little chance the rally will take place.

Yeah, that would be my guess. Not liking that possibility but not all that important in the bigger picture. Stay well my friends!
