I bought a new R18. I finally decided it can not replace the 12 Camhead, so I am keeping both.

I bought the Camhead new Fall 2012, took the best of care o fit, Always garaged, serviced it every 3,000 miles. No crashes, no dents or dings.
No scratches. No problems. It also has yellow springs. Its a keeper.

Too many words and no pictures, none-what-so-ever - need do-over post w pictures of the bike (and zoom in on yella springs)... :D

Kidding aside, short of going for LC R boxer bike, Camheads are so good at all they do that they're becoming timeless classics... :thumb

Got the new to me Track Day bike. Rode it home about 85 miles and it seems pretty good. Will be going over everything and doing all the maintenance stuff and replacing aged rubber parts. Yes Lead Wrist it has Yellow Springs F&R, 24,000 miles, twin Spark. I know it's a S but you guys like them also. I'll still be using my 02 R1150R at the Track Days also.

Awesome, awesome, awesome Randy Mamola specimen... Luggage racks, yella Ohlins, cyl head covers already pre-scratched for track duty, looks like Laser exhaust too - great find and congrats!! :clap

Looking forward to track day pics at later date... :thumb

David, I hear what your saying. Thought my new Beemer Boxer is in opposite direction of yours, I am so glad I kept my Camhead Roadster also with yellow springs and other goodies! My new RT is beautiful, extremely competent but doesn't get my heart beating like my Roadster. And my Roadster ain't no slouch!

A Pic of each for @Lead Wrist:

Had an R1100RT before the roadster. I wanted a lighter bike. I kept tipping the RT over because I am short.

Thinking about my comment above asking how many goodies do you see, I think I am going to start (yet another) farkle thread for our anal inmates, but with a twist. You post a pic of your bike, then we inmates try to identify all the farkles in the picture. The inmate who identifies the most farkles, posts a picture of their bike and repeat.

What do you think? Fun thread or stupid?

After a bit over 13.5hrs in the seat today and 1045 miles I think I'm going to get a better seat with a little more height. The stock one isn't terrible by any means but it could have a little more cushion to it. I'm hoping the added height will help with my knees. They're all busted up and after about 100 miles it just starts to get uncomfortable and stiff. Not unbearable and it goes away pretty quickly once I get off and walk around to pump gas, grab a snack, etc, but it could be better.

Edit: Finally got around to seeing what seat is on the bike now and it turns out it is the OEM low version. It's not listed as an option on any of the paperwork but that explains a lot.

I feel the same way. Bike shopping in earnest yet the Roadster never factors into the conversation as a trade.

Dead reliable, no problems or issues that would give me pause from a cross country ride tomorrow. I ask a lot from it but it is loved.

My 2011 is also a keeper.

I have one of those in my garage that I need to put back together. It was low sided a few years back, and needs some love and $$ invested in it.

R12S isn't as pretty as R11S (previously pictured) was but boi can she cook! Especially when equipped w sport yella springs suspension, as seen on the specimen pictured (peechur borrowed from interwebs)... :lol3

Under no circumstances no-way-no-how should you ever ride one - all other bikes you've got will become "tool bikes" in no time flat... :evil
