    Sent the $$.

Idea for the companion: The electricals--adding lights, troubleshooting, etc.

That's the part of these GSs that intimidates me most.

I have already filmed adding Motolights, and am going to do a fuse box, but keep the ideas coming.

I have to admit to being intimidated by bike electricals as well. Maybe you can show how to wire an intercom and the associated gadgets like a radar detector iPod, GPS xm radio etc.

The installation of a set of Ohlins would be great to.

You could call it "The Great Farkle."

    Thanks again Jim!

A big thanks from me also!

You helped me out with my lights install. That advice alone is worth the price of admission. I for one will use the DVD to do as much of the service as I can. Thank you!

Jim, great idea. You may want to look into hosting your DVD on the net and have a web-site for beemer maintenance with a paid subscription with membership and you could charge different levels of membership based on the title and version of the video. Simple distribution and world wide market. You could also have it narated or sub-titled in different languages.

    Food for thought.

    Hi,

I have thought about it, but the DVD is currently 4.2GB long, and I am not crazy about reducing the quality of the video enough to make online video downloads viable.

Or maybe I just do not know enough about this to realize it IS viable?

    Thanks for the suggestions though.

Jim is the process for bleeding the Servo Brake system the same on the 1200 and the 1150?

As long as you are talking servo systems yes, it is identicle. I have done several of the 1150 servo systems, and a 1200 system for the video.

Actually, not on this video but on the upcomming Companion video, the non-servo brake systems from the older 1100/1150 GS bleeds essentially the same as the post servo-ABS on the 07 R1200 series.

So, to be clear, the R1200 Maintenance DVD covers brake bleeding for the Servo-ABS systems with include the 1150 and the 1200 series bikes.

:nod Talking Servo, I'm going to do a brake bleed in the near future but I would have more confidence to watch it once being done.

I guess you have another order.

Jim, Trust me you can have nice looking video files that are small in size. A lot has to do with the codec that you use. If the Porn industry can do it I know it can be done.

I'm flushing and bleeding the brake system on my 2003 R1150GS and wish I had that video already. Looks like my modulator is the same as what is on the 1200GS.

I just changed the clutch myself after the dealer in Atlnta told me it would be $1700-1900.00 for that 10 hour job. Well, I got this to say about that::fyyff :topes :ken :kat :boid :flip :eatme If I'd thought about it I could have filmed or took photos of that job. It wasn't hard really, just time consuming. Also a good time to clean everything up under there real good. I made a funnel adapter to do the fluid change I'll post a pic of it later.
