I'm merely a K100RS rider. But I would consider an RA rally. Gotta' look at schedules for later this year.

on edit: 3000 miles round trip (from northern NH) in October??? Uh we have had snow by then. Think I'll pass and wait for one a bit closer to New England or closer to summer.

There's new information up on the RA webpage. Hotels and ride maps in Arkansas. Check it out at bmwra.org
Click on the black toolbar "Club" drop- down "National Rally".

I really enjoyed the RA at Barber, but this has some serious potential!

    BMW RA 10/01 - 10/04/15.

Falling Leaf Rally in Potosi, MO 10/9 - 10/11/15.

I'm not sure if I can ride that many twisty roads in a week .................. :huh

I usually motor out from CO to the Ozarks & Ouachitas once or twice a season. For my money, it's some of the best all around riding in the country, without the crowds and traffic of all the other high profile riding places.

I've got to run out and buy a 2015 calendar ............... just so I can put these dates on it! :evil

Looks like the Barber Vintage Festival is the next weekend and maybe 300 miles away. Same as falling leaves

It seems a little late in the season. As noted above some states can have snow that early.
School is in, so I suspect most teachers cannot make it
and 1st - 4th eliminates probably 70% of the people who work in finance or accounting at any major company

I know it is impossible to pick ANY set of dates that encompasses all, but this date range seems particularly restrictive.

Is it just me, or am I missing something and these dates really do make sense.

Probably... possibly... (Maybe?) these dates are set to be timed with peak fall leaf changes down there? Certainly in an area where there is likely to be a definite tourist "season", the dates are set to put the rally there after the tourists are back home.

    Yup.

The challenge is the core is getting old. Really old. As in retired, footloose and fancy free old. A few weeks in October down south? Sounds grand!

The majority would love Alabama in October. The minority will not. You can pretty much bet nobody under 45 will be able to attend; any new member will be 55+.

Good for the short term, not so good for the future of the RA.

DAMN, THE TRUTH SURE HURTS ............:lol3

But on the other hand, it sure feels nice to be one of the "young punks" at one of these gatherings at age 54.
