I did it at dawn, on that ridiculous stretch of monument Valley where you can see for miles…

At first I couldn’t get past 128, but then realized I was still in 5th gear…

Has anyone installed the Bren Tune intake air temp sensor relocation and flapper door delete kit on a 2020+? If so, where did you move the iat sensor to? Thanks in advance

Went for a ride yesterday and got the LAMPF! error. It looks like the parking lamp on the right side wasn't seated (bulb was inside "tube" of housing unlike the left side) and melted it to where I can't seat the new one.
A new headlight housing is on the way. Does anyone know of a good video or write up on removing everything to get to it?

    That's a bummer. I don't think I've heard of that happening before.

BMW wants just shy of $400 for one headlight housing. Found a set NIB on eBay for about half. Now for the fun part of opening the beak to get them switched out.
Big shout out to Marks Motorcycle Parts in the UK. I emailed to see if his manual covers disassembly to get to what I need and quickly had a response that it doesn't but he would create a supplement for me to cover it. True to his word he completed it that weekend complete with pics from a bike he had in the shop. Can't recommend that kind of service enough!

Took advantage of an early Black Friday sale. Still need to do the wiring.

    Darlas?

I just got an error for a burnt out headlight and am looking for a replacement/upgrade.

Anyone found something good they like?

I averaged about 1 bulb per 10,000 miles. I carried a replacement with me. I went with the cheap option as I didn't find anything else that looked like it would do any better.

I have the same ones, but used the fairing mounts and a Hex ezCAN. Nice lights!

Headlight burns out every year on both our XR's. Doesn't seem to matter which brand we buy. I'm currently using Syvania with a one year replacement guarantee, been getting a free replacement the last few years. Seems to be a cycle deal.

The XR produces the type of vibrations that headlight bulbs and iPhones don't particularly like.

10k per set of headlight bulbs sounds about right. They both die within a week or two of each other. The brand doesn't seem to matter.

Is this the 2020 XR or the 1 gen XR? Seems like having to replace lights at 10K miles is a bit excessive

1st gen. The new one is LED so should last the life of the bike I would think.

Sounds like I should get a spare headlight bulb or two. What type does it use?

I don't carry spare. You can switch with the high-beam if needed to get you to an auto parts store which usually has a good selection of the size.
